Thankfully I didn't have this experience when I went to purchase my 370z. I walked into the showroom (where they had 1 370, none outsite) a salesman walked up to me and asked if I liked the car. I looked around and asked how we get this car outside, he asked if I was talking about a test drive, I said no, I want to buy it. Between the sales rep and the manager they were practically begging me to drive the car, I just politely asked them to get it outside and shine it up before we were done with my paperwork.

I also think the people at the dealership I went to are pretty friendly. I've been back there several times for service or just to check out what else they have and the salesman have treated me nicely every time.

nice...I think it's funny that they wanted you to drive it even though you were going to buy, total opposite of what I went through, sign paper work to say I wantto buy THEN drive it. I'm def. not going back to that dealer, now that I recall him saying "when your ready to buy in jan, then we can talk about test driving" hmm.....maybe he though pinoys can't afford anything since he saw my pinoy shirt I was wearing....lol oh well time to move on

We don't even come close to selling a car to everyone who comes in, 30% at best, so whats the difference.

PS The Ferrari guy didn't offer me a test drive-
When I was with some friends who dropped of their volvo at the dealership for the reg. maintenance we walked to the porsche dealership (the volvo, porsche , and jaguar dealer had connecting showrooms) and a older sale rep. asked we we had any questions. We said no, just browsing, so he told us if he had questions let him know and said to relax a little in the cars jumped in a vert and when through the gears...was fun.

Same (well not the GTR part but treating me weird). 24 here, and when I filled in the guest form I gave away my SSN and put in my correct annual income. 2 mins later I go back to pee and overhear Greg (manager at Smithtown Nissan, Long Island NY) tell the sales guy "he gotta be kidding by writing he makes this much".

Incidentally, this dealership has a lawsuit on them now from 2 days ago (fish around for my post titled Smithtown NY Nissan lawsuit or something put up 2 days back). Filthy people, filthy treatment. I went there 3 times, the third time with my girlfriend and the guy just wouldn't talk respectfully. Some 24 yr old brown people have good careers you know. Specially the nerdy ones lol.

I'd like to add though, my 4th visit I met their guy Dustin Callendar (African American, and known to be the Z guy at that dealership - everyone kept telling me about him but he was never around during my first 3 visits). And he is very straightforward and smart to deal with. But that doesn't change whats going on with their lawsuit though.
