Z1 Motorsports Cold Air Intakes

Does anyone have this set up? They seem to be pretty similar to the Gen 3 intakes from Stillen but $100 less in price. Thoughts?

Zoom370z you are probably correct. The reason why I was asking is they are less expensive and no cutting holes is required to install them.

Biggest reason that I got mine; is that an immediate tune isn't required/ because the MAF sensors are in same location;just put on bottom of pipe, rather than top,,,,cleaner look.
Also, about trimming/ silicone pipe will squeeze through upper core support/ but will gently squeeze it in places,,,, I trimmed mine,so I don't kink the pipes....filters lay nicely on crash bar.

Just sayin, you really can't improve on your stock intakes in terms of design.what you can do is improve flow with post MAF's and a k&n filter or the hipo filter of your choice. Then add a kickin exhaust n cats.you're good to go. You'll have the same power gains as the guys with these $500 intakes.

Remember you get the most power gains from the first breather mod of your choice. The second is a supporting mod. Starting at the exhaust will save you $$$ and net you more power.

I would rather breathe out of a cone filter than a panel filter all day; more surface area to filter air and pull it in.

In the case of our cars. Our intakes pull in the coldest air. So the mod I suggested pull up to 8hp throughout the range as a first mod.

Or you can put a Stillen on lose 8hp from 500-4900rpm. Then gain 16hp from 5000 to 7500. Seems counter productive to me.

Especially when you can pull your 15hp on-from the exhaust and then get that cold air with about +5hp as a second mod after adding an exhaust.

The stock intakes are a restriction after 6500rpm. Upgraded maf tubes and K&N intakes will bump it up mildly, but it still plateaus. I've never seen a CAI lose power anywhere against a stock setup or even post maf tubes and K&N intakes. Those are a great bang for the buck. Also, the air is no colder than the a G3 style setup. It's not in the engine bay. There are a million threads on this topic. The Z1 intakes are a great deal and better than a panel filter with post maf tubes. You won't lose power. Just don't get a short ram.
