I suppose it wasn't considered in the design. What if someone were driving their Nissan Z and they stopped at a 7-11 to throw away some trash in their trash can but the driver mistakenly threw away their car key as well and then they proceeded to continue driving without it. I hear these coded keys cost anywhere from $300 to $1,000 USD. |

It's not that cold here in Memphis yet, but come January we'll start getting around 20 degrees...it will very, very rarely go lower than that.

LOL...There were stories every week on the Corvette forum about guys doing this. Their system works the same way. Tends to PO the wives when they have to drive 50+ miles to rescue the Hubby who left the FOB on the workbench...You usually only do this once....

Once again....you heard wrong.
But even at $75 (Corvette) or $125 (Mazda) or $275 (Nissan) that's the price you pay for stupidity.. Last edited by Modshack; 11-19-2009 at 05:43 PM. |

I hate the fact I even have to start my car when it's cold outside. It sounds so pissed off when starting from an ice cold sleep. While the engine was designed with those parameters in mind, it's still not very nice. Definitely not letting it sit there to warm up. I'm not that big of a puss... |

The solution here is to turn off your car when it's unattended. You wouldn't leave the keys in the ignition of a locked, non-Intellikey car, would you? All someone would have to do is smash the window and go. Quote:
