We still have Sunoco in Mich. When l was a kid in the 60s/70s Sunoco had the dial your octane on the pump too!
190 octane =economy
200 = reg.
210, 220, 230 = mid.
240,= prem.
250, 260 high octane & it was blue & smelled great

40 or 50 or some places 60 cent difference in ct. used to be only 20 or so. now our gas is going up again because they are switching to a "summer blend". what a rip off.

Jeez, I hadn't paid much attention, but I just filled up, and regular was 2.19 and 93 octane was 3.15. This was at a Shell station outside of the city. Of course everything in Illinois is totally screwed up.

if it's $5 you don't have a choice if you want to drive your car you're going to have to pay lol

in atlanta the tax is 20 cents so from 87 to 89 is a 20 cent and then from 89 to 93 is another 20 cent difference. anything higher than that is the pump themselves charging more.

On the Kansas side of the KC area (how's that for confusing ) it's .20 between regular and mid grade, then .20 to 91 octane premium. That's at QuikTrip. We have a few BP stations around, but I don't get gas there for a couple of reasons, they don't sell enough premium and the stations are run by some sketchy characters.

I haven't looked at the price of gas in 15 years (or food). I heard it was high a few years back.

93 was about .50 a gallon more than 89 a couple weeks ago. West MI.

93 was 60c > regular at two different Shell stations here today.

Seems as though the spread is sometimes as little as 50c, but I couldn't swear to it as I no longer pay attention to what regular costs.
