Clearcoat and birdsh@t!

 Anyone noticing that after washing off bird crap or bug guts that sometimes the area underneath now seems to have distorted or slightly melted clearcoat? At least, that is what it looks like to me. I can feel a slightly grainy texture that won't change with wax and you can see it at many angles. I now have three such dime sized distortions on the hood and wonder if anyone else has this problem and if you were able to correct it. Thanks! :tiphat:

Well in my case, those distortion slowly faded away and now you can't even tell if they were even there in the first place.

I had crap on mine for about 12 hrs. I used an orbital buffer and meguires swirl remover. Looks great!

Meguiars swirls X 2.0,Meguiar's Direct SwirlX

should do the trick, let me know :)

Sure is, I havea feww spots that are still messed up, even after a lot of polishing. F*ckers.

that is why you carry a quick detailer and a microfiber towel in your glove box to wipe it off when you have time, the best thing to do is to wipe it off when you see it instead of holding it off til the wash.

Well I didn't actually see what s--- on my car. But in florida we have some big birds.

Leaves a purple'ish hue on black cars, my dealer airbrushed the clear coat and looks good as new
