Some guy claimed that miata was better cause the doors close more solid. It got out of control and before you knew it miata doors were indestructible and by themselves the single most useful object ever :icon17: |

I used to have customer that showed up like 9 or 10 times to make sure we could and would work on his "race car". Finally backed in a trailer with a Miata on it. I had 3 Ferraris in one corner, a Lotus, and a '36 Bentley drop head coupe in the other. It took every thing not to laugh about his concern. When people love their cars, which Miata owners seem too, it's the coolest thing on wheels.

then you see my Z in the middle of the shop. I felt poor  |
I treated every car the same. We had a navy base close by so we had every thing from the 1986 hoopty kept together with duck tape to 400K 1 of 1 1920's Roll's, and to be completely honest I enjoy driving my Z more than some of the super cars, and even if I had millions tomorrow my Z would stay in the stables.

:yum::rofl2::rofl2: There's just something about miata doors! The way they close. It's so commanding. Can we get a Miata door transplant on our Z's?:roflpuke2::roflpuke2: |

No debate or argument here.I'm simply stating that rule of the game are not like they were. Auto = faster then manual, mx5 not just feminine but fun, azz backwards car with engine in the boot are the bar which every car strive for, ect. YzGyz |
keeping everything in perspective
It is common for drivers of Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers to come up next to me and try to get me to race. They seemed to have confused a muscle car with a sports car or not know the difference. I remember when the Miata first came out. It was considered the Japanese version of the British sports cars only, reliable, easy to maintain and fun to drive. The Rx7 I had at the time had more power but flinging the Miata through corners, especially on mountain roads was a blast and that was what it was designed to do. As to automatic versus stick, I've had both and prefer the a manual gearbox. It is not that one is better than the other, the auto is faster off the line for me, but that the auto is kind of boring. With a manual gearbox I am more part of the driving experience using the transmission to control the car along with the brakes through corners and so forth.
