Trading in the Z

I might be trading in my 2011 gunmetal gray 370z with 155k miles tomorrow for a Nismo. It's a 2012 Nismo with 30k miles for $28k. Of course im gonna try to talk them down, but does that seem like a solid deal? The only thing wrong with it is that they removed the passenger air bag light next to the radio. They guy told me that he had something else there instead.

Idk man I got my 2010 40th anniversary Z last year (2015) for $25k with 72k miles on it... I'd have them bring down the price at least $1.5k-$2k? Apply the wear and tear and depreciation card. Look for any reason to bring that price down. I also suggest you straight up tell them you're not convinced and simply walk away. It won't even be an hour before you get a call with a new deal asking you to come back ;)

If the car is in good shape that is the going price for a 2012 Nismo 370z.

kenchan 04-06-2016 04:34 PM

a Z for a Z, sounds stupid idea to me...for that cash u can get fully TT Z with built internals, best on the market clutch and LSD, fully build suspension, and about 10k left over.

Be prepared to be screwed without lube on your trade, especially with that high of miles. Even if they lower the price of the nismo, they will adjust it down with your trade. Good luck

You are assuming he is going to drop 15k+ down on the new nismo..

maybe he is just getting a newer ride + a new body kit and doesn't have that much for a down payment..

If he does have that kind of cash, then yes..he could make much better use of funds with his current Z

I'd take that in a heart beat :( my 40th anniversary has 118k miles and I still owe like $19k. Haha I bought it last year with 72k miles :p
