I just noticed this morning I'm getting the frequency noise on the passenger side. You really hear it when you turn your head, it's almost sounds like an old TV turned on without sound turned on. I don't think this has anything to do with mileage of the vehicle because I have only 1k miles on it uuuggggh. It doesn't bother me that much, but I do want this fixed. I'll bring it into the shop so they can just have record of another car with the issue.

something needs to be done about this problem. When I talked to my dealership last time they told me nissan knew about the problem and were coming out with a fix for it. I called Nissan North America yesterday and opened a CA file, when i asked if they knew about this problem the person I talked to said there have been no reports / and or is not a known problem with nissan. So basically she told me that nothings wrong with my car and no one else is experiencing this. I spoke with Sherie Matores ext. 41 629 who was a Customer Representative as Nissan Consumer Affairs. I hate to sell the vehicle back or go the lemon law attorney route but they are leaving me with no options. I need your guys help from the forum to get something done. Maybe a signed petition what not ( dont know what it would be called ) , file a joint complaint with everyone who is experiencing this problem to nissan cause its starting to get ridiculous.

Sometime I get that high frequency noise and sometime I don't. I noticed it especially on cold start and not moving. My car has about 1k miles.

I made an appointment with my local Service Manager to take a look at the car to hear the noise. It's coming from the ECU location, but it's tough to say if it's the ECU. It seems nobody knows the origin of the noise. I'll keep you posted on any findings.

Does anyone have additional facts about the frequency noise?

The noise starts when my car rev hits 1,000 RPM's, I can be parked, or driving

I wonder if the noise issue would not exist had Nissan did not put a priority on weight reduction. What I mean is that if they installed more sound reducing materials like foam this would not exist, correct?

It also happens in Infiniti vehicles which do have sound proofing.

Atleast from what I'm reading and seeing with my Z is that it's replicable. Rev the car over 1K RPM's and you'll ear the frequency noise from the glovebox area.

No that's not correct. If the source of the problem didn't exist in the first place, it wouldn't matter if there was enough sound deadening or not. The noise would still exist even if u just blocked it out.

I've owned what seems like a jillion vehicles over my lifetime. Without exception any problem significant or initially unsolveable enough to contact the mfg resulted in the same lie that I was the only one who had experienced the problem and or made a complaint. How in the world can this be a good business strategy. I assume however since this response is ubiquitous it must work for the bottom line... SAD!

Sorry. I was not clear

what I meant to say is that the sound would still exist but not audible enough to be annoying.

I've listened to that noise several times and it almost sounds like I have heard it before.A very famuliar sound to me?
So the other night it was unusually warm and I was cleaning the car. When I was finished I was having a beer and smoking one of my buds from my new crop and it suddenly came to me!
The sound you are hearing is an old Led Zeppelin tune.It is very hard to hear it with the human ear but after the bud I smoked it was very clear to me that is what it is!I actually like it guys!
I'am not taking mine in if there is a recall!
