:iagree: That's exactly the sound I hear in my car as well. |
I haven't bought my 370Z yet, but I'll be sure to listen to see if the car I'm test driving has that sound, and not buy it till Nissan comes out with a fix. That sound is soooooo damn irritating, that I'm sure I'll get a headache everytime I drive it.

That really is an annoying sound! So is this just a problem with a small percentage of Z owners or more widespread?

^^ i can only tell you with words that thats what the service guy said. now how much of its true and everything i dont know. I mean i have the service record from today showing I complained about the problem if that'll help make you think that im somewhat not lying. but on the service record it says that the sound is coming from the fuel pump motor and no action is needed to be taken. but when i came in to pick up my car and actually sat down and talked to the guy thats when he told me all about calling nissan etc. I dont know why he would lie to me and he told me if they found out before i did about the fix theyd contact me asap. The guy also said the other Z's in the lot had the same problem ( but it prolly wont stop them from selling them hahah)

Please, someone let us know when there's TRULY a warranty fix for this issue that is available at and known by ALL dealers....

Here's the link to the G37 site....
High-Pitch/Frequency Noise Poll. - Page 16 - MyG37 Look back a few days...a couple of the members have been recording the sound on laptops and iphones and running it thru spectrum analyzers. You'll see that the actual sound graphs were posted and both show the noise at 10kHz. I hate this noise with a passion, so I'm looking for help from the Nissan side since you guys are having the same issue. When it really comes down to it, who really cares about all the "mods" etc. on either forum as long as we have this issue that ruins our cars. For non-believers, read the charts on the G37 site then go to the 10kHz post site that one of your fellow members posted earlier and see if you can hear the noise. If you can't hear the noise on the site, you still may have the issue and others who ride with you may be able to hear it and hate your ride due to the noise. You can always download the app to your iphone and check to see if you have the same issue. I'm like all of you, sick of posts that are going nowhere where members report taking their cars in and someone them they are "aware of the problem and working on a fix", while never mentioning a service manager's name or a specific dealer. With the sound analyzing tools, we now can not only prove there is a noise via a spectrum analyzer, but thru actual recordings of the aggravating sound. What do you think Nissan and Infiniti would do if all of us went showed up for service with actual live proof that there is a problem? We wouldn't get the "can't replicate issue" and "you'll have to schedule an appointment with the service manager to see if he can hear the noise" responses. Is any of this making sense to anyone? |
I'm not sure why anyone would make up a story about their service center claiming to have a solution, unless Nissan is using shills, which I highly doubt. There seems to be some denial on the list that problems can occur with this car, which isn't very helpful. Granted, I don't want to see the list become a bashing board with every minor gripe being blown out of proportion, yet when real problems surface we need to, as a community, look into it. We shouldn't ostracize people who show up with information and appear to genuinely try to help.

I have never heard this noise in my Z, and thank goodness for that, because that is one ANNOYING sound!!!! I have newfound sympathy for those of you who have this going on in your Zs.

I have been putting off taking my car in hoping that a TSB was soon to be released. That would mean I wouldn't have to go in and argue with the dummies at my dealership that there is a noise coming from the ECU. However, I am not sure how much longer I can stand this stupid noise. I like AM radio in the mornings and at lunch, but usually listen to music in the afternoons which will cover the noise. |
