Bird droppings can actually eat through your clear coat given enough time. They won't go all the way through but it'll leave a mark that won't come out. I had this happen an Eclipse I used to own.

yeah I hated how on my old 350Z I'd leave the bird dropping to bake til Sunday when I wash my car and the bird crap would leave a yellowish stain that needed to be polish off. So ever since then I carry a 2oz bottle of QD and a MF towel.
