I think if I upgraded my CBE, I'd see a small gain in numbers. Looking at the Nismo CBE design, it's much closer to the stock CBE than Stillen/FI/etc designs. Would I expect a 20 whp gain? Nope, but I wouldn't be surprised by a 5-12 whp gain.

I think the hp difference between stock and Nismo is from the tune, not the CBE. Of course, I'm no expect, and it's certainly not anything more than my opinion.

Respected my friend, I think it's more of a 50-50 though, a tune on it's own would barely yield anything without improved breathing

this is dynojet?

I wonder why mine only read 268whp/220t. must've been real cold where that was tested?

a question, my lsd overheated a while back and needed it's oil replaced. could it have affected the numbers?

I would LOVE to see what a normal 370z puts out on that dyno, because their stock 350z put out 257whp. So that's roughly a 30whp difference. Which is pretty close to the difference that a normal 370z has over a stock 350z. It is a bit higher though, so the numbers make sense. I think a normal 370z would've read in the 290 range on that dyno on that day.

254 + 26 (350Z to 370Z HP gain) = 280

280 + 18 (Nismo gain) = 298

w/o even taking in any drive train loss factor on the additional HP, the numbers add up pretty close.

Assuming 17% loss

254 + 22 = 276

276 + 15 = 291 - or about what the OP got.

what does the 370 Nismo have that the Base or Touring doesn't have by way of power modifications?

A tune and CBE that, on paper, generate the 18 hp difference.

Ugh I hate these threads, I dont own a new camaro but seriously this ricer logic is somewhat bothering me. Because its American doesnt mean it sucks. Your logic is that American sucked in the past, for the most part this is true, but the LSX engine is proven.....Its a fantastic engine, thats great for mods, and has just as much reliability as a VQ...... if you leave both stock of course. Now I make this assumption on STOCK stats. IMO the camaro is a massive improvement over the old one and many other cars. Oh and also if you are under the impression that they cannot turn youd be wrong on that too. Now they are not a Z in handling but again HUGE improvment. The people that are bashing are the same people that bash on vette handling when a vette would DESTROY a Z in all performance aspects.

easy easy im not saying the camaro sucks but at speed and on the run aerodynamics come into play. im sure the camaro would be great in the 1/4 mile but who drives a 1/4 mile at a time(except for Vin Diesel). The camaro n vette are great american cars and i agree the newest models are the best yet. But if not going in a straight line and if i could get my Z past 155-157 im gonna give the vette a helluva run. Besides that i dont think anyone here would dispute the beauty of the 370Z compared to the others. i'd rather build the Z and outrun them all.

LMAO at VD comment.

AND, agree (as I think I posted earlier) especially with the remark on the style.

i like the style of the camaro...but don't like the performance. aside from the handling factors..it takes a 6.2L v8 making 426hp to match the speed of the Z. Their 0-60 times are very close...5sec for the camaro and 4.7-5.1 for the Z

Edit: is it just me or does someone else see a problem with needing a 6.2L engine to make that???? waste of liters.

^^camaro weighs at least 500lbs more than our cars..actually the ls motor is very light for its size..same motor as in the c6 vettes..anyhow it produces 420lbs tq...not too shabby..its a fun drive!
