Nissan 370Z Forum

is there anyone okay with your 370Z after 100K miles without ATF change?

I think a good solution is pick up another set so you can swap it out right away and then have the next one dry and ready to go for

I think a good solution is pick up another set so you can swap it out right away and then have the next one dry and ready to go for the next cleaning.

speaking of which I'm probably going to check mine later...

i thought of that but it doesnt really take that long.

pick a small window of time on a sunday or something. jack it up, drop the bumper, and go.

giggity.

initial water dry takes a little time but if it's daylight let the sun speed that up. oil technically calls for only 20 min but i'd say go 40 min to be sure. not liek it hurts it.

soooo yea this time isnt a great example of a dry time to good to drive scenario

i will say if you pick up the filter and theres drops running down it or a ring on the ground, wipe the excess off, and let sit a bit longer. you may have gone a little heavy but it'll dry.

Yeah you know what I did over soil mine :$ as much as u hate to admit

The Porch guys only oil the incoming air side, too much oil can play havoc with the MAF

So do you mean your transmission was broken after its fluid change at 150K miles around .. ??

While there is a bit of truth to the don't-change-if-miles-are-high theory (mainly with older ATs), it's not gospel. Depends on the lube and what's being lubed. With modern ATs/ATFs, it shouldn't be a problem.
You know, not all modern automatic transmissions are maintenance-free.

I actually somewhat agree to that no-change-at-high-miles theory because in my experience my Z got pretty faster acceleration (like having higher torque) just after its ATF change at around 100K miles, but soon some weeks later after all it got broken.

I guess that previous transmission must have malfunctioned after its fluid change anyway ..

If you drive the car hard it needs to be changed. I've changed mine twice and it was nasty. The car only has 35K on it but it's tracked with a supercharger. I just had level 10 rebuild it and the fluid that came out of it was so full of clutch material that I'm surprised it wasn't acting up. It's just my 2 cents, but I've never left a fluid in a car for 100k.

If I did, maybe I really might have tried it and sent my used sample for oil analysis..

OP, no offense, but you specifically made a thread because you didn't know how to work the paddle shifters, which to me translates to you don't know how to drive an automatic....it's no mystery that your tranny went bye bye.

Please do not put the olive oil to your engine.

It would do harm.
