If I did, maybe I really might have tried it and sent my used sample for oil analysis..

also why the manual is written the way it is lol

their parameters will work if you drive 2k miles a year never passing 3500rpm

if we dont break anything the dealerships and manufacture dont make anything on the backend.

actually i may do a diff fluid change this year too. just did oil change and cleaned/oiled my intake filters over the weekend.

Yeah that's exactly why. You would do it in good time I believe the best or most ideal is every 30-40k miles but the longer it's set off the more likely one is prone to experience failure.

Again, I am not a professional nor am I licensed in any of this. I am only going by what I've been told in the past and what makes sense to me.

Since you mentioned oiling the filters. I also just recently cleaned and oiled my air filters, however I came across a thread on here where a member mentioned that using oil is no good for the filter because it can mess with MAF? Is this accurate? Or is it no biggie?

honestly i dont know. i've heard people say it before but considering filters are mass produced as dry or oiled on such a large scale vs being some random DIY mod i feel it's not that detrimental to the car's performance.

i pulled mine off, washed them, let dry, oiled, let dry, replaced on the car. i'm mad at myself because i think i waited too long because i can actually feel it pulling harder now. guess they were well past a good cleaning.

The key to K&N filters and oiling is not to over oil them, and like Presto did, let them dry... The challenges comes when some folks have so much oil on the filter it drips off.... Last car I had with an oil bath air filter was a 1949 Chrysler...

the instructions for the "recharge" kit say after oiled let dry for 20 min. i did mine mid oil change and just bullshitin with my dad in the garage. i think mine sat about 45-60 min before i installed then i backed it out to give it a quick wash........then into the garage at home for a day since it was cold and stormy monday lol

soooo yea this time isnt a great example of a dry time to good to drive scenario

i will say if you pick up the filter and theres drops running down it or a ring on the ground, wipe the excess off, and let sit a bit longer. you may have gone a little heavy but it'll dry.
