Hope that helps. From what I've been reading it sounds like something I've seen on other car models. Like a GT running around with Cobra bumpers maybe? Given the age of the car, maybe the owner switched some things out due to availability or necessity, and not just to troll us.

I couldn't see anywhere in the one pic I got if it was Datsun or not. Not from the rear, maybe it would say on the grille somewhere.

280z's have he 5 mph bumpers on them. The bumper rubbers are hard to find. Nissan discontinued them a long time ago. I was looking for some back in 1992 and they were discontinued back then.

Yep, it's a 280Z. Albeit modified. A 240Z has the back up lights integrated into the brake/turn lense. This one has 240Z rear and front bumpers (at least not the 5mph bumpers of 260Z and 280Z). The easiest way to tell a 260Z and later from the front is that the license plate is centered on the 240Z and offset to the starboard on the 260Zs. The 240Zs also had a Datsun badge on the rear deck. I'm not sure if there was one on the 260Zs or 280Zs. All in all a very nice restore. Kudos to the owner.

The fuel door, bumpers and tail lights give it away...
