Thanks for this thread.. I was thinking of getting a fog light for my Nismo but dang I'm not about to take off my bumper just for a light. You saved me some $$$ buddy!

Say it ain't so... Nismo Foglight Install

Your welcome... I wouldn't say it's impossible to do the install without removing the bumper, but with the visibility and the additional bracing and angles in the area where the fog goes I had just had enough. Steps are just: 1. Remove interior trunk panels 2. Remove taillights 3. Passenger side bumper 2 bolts 2 push pins 4. Drivers side 1 bolt 2 push pins 5. Underneath 2 bolts 6 push pins 6. Carefully remove bumper with placing something to support the bumper if doing it alone That's pretty much it. Don't doubt it... Do it! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...53e8c0ebf0.jpg |
How was getting the nut and bolts on the fake fog light off? I've read it's a pain because it spins or rusts together and some people have to cut it off

I've been very lucky and haven't had that issue.. I have heard that though. This is the 3rd one I've done and I've found the following helps: Leave the car parked with the rear facing the sun for a couple hours. Then if possible use a combination wrench on the nut. Counter clockwise slow even pressure. Probably the stripping issue comes from just forcing it thus gouging the plastic where the bolt seats in the housing. You can also soak the nut in acetone or penetrating oil I've heard that too. |

Yeah pretty straight forward getting over the mental aspect of "I'm taking off the bumper of my 40 thousand dollar car to install a 60 dollar light?" Is the real struggle ;) |
