They took a great car and made it much better.

This has been highly discussed in several threads on this site, and I didn't think that it was resolved by adding mileage. Nonetheless, the transmission is a GREAT transmission, and the clunk-clunk-clunk noise can be avoided. Its just not something you would expect from a $40k sports car. Although I guess it isn't... it is a $30k sports car with $10k in options lol.
I've read no less than 2 people say that the 1st->2nd shift definitely smoothed out past 5k miles. Certainly not what we want to hear, but it gives me hope.

Shifting to 2nd certainly feels a little rougher than my 72 Bug's shift from 1st to 2nd. Getting into 6th requires a little more effort than other gears, but that's not too much different than other similarly geared vehicles, I believe.

The Mustang GT California Special is NOT so "special". It is an ordinary Mustang GT with ground effects, production plaque and higher price tag (8K to 10K more). In fact the owners of the original 'California Specials" do not allow the owners of the new ones to register in the California Special Registry. The new ones have their own separate registry. Old owners snub the new CS Mustangs....and with some amount of just cause.....

I completely agree with OP, when 03 the 350Z came out I was stunned by it's line and the looks of it and ever since than I decided that was a car I was gonna drive one day, back in 07 I bought a used 05 350Z and was very pleased with it until I saw the 370Z in the early Novembers of 08. At first I thought "OMG ugly with all the barbed lights and uneven surfaces" And soon enough 3 months later I grew to liking it so so much and appreciates it's look even more how it's so aggressive looking with the fangs too like a monsters face hahah and soon you know it, October of 09 I sold my 05 and bought a brand new 09 model and love it more than the 350 and I smile everyday I see and drive it.

Never was a fan of the Z33, however Z32 on the other hand ranks quite high on my list. I'm probably going to get flamed by ex/current 350Z owners but I think the 370Z is miles ahead of the 350Z in the styling department. Just my opinion obviously but it takes a lot for a "normal" car to really impress me looks wise.

Love both my z33 and z34. Two different types of cars in my opinion though. Track car versus touring car.

Disclaimer:
That's just my opinion, not some fact printed somewhere.

And I agree with you too! The 370Z is a dream come true. It's like as if someone took the 350Z and enhanced all what was good about it and they fixed what was less than stellar. Progress is progress. After seeing how beautifully the 370Z handled I can't imagine going through life not knowing what it would be like to be a proud owner of a new 370Z with all the bells and whistles that I wanted. And in the right color. They look lovely in blue but I think I might just get pearl white because it's more practical in summer heat.

No other car company in the whole world could have made a car as good as the 370Z except for Nissan/Datsun. It is one of a kind. In a good way.

I would never buy any car unless the test drive "sold" me on the car.

Didn't necessarily test drive it since it was the dealership's only model but I knew I wanted it even before I stepped inside.

I remember really wanting a 350Z a while back but ended up deciding on a 03 Honda S2000. Few years later and back from a deployment, I was in the market for a new car. I stopped by a Nissan dealership and I was sold. The test drive only confirmed what I already made up in my mind: I'm buying the 370z

The Z shouldnt be a car thats doesnt get test driven cuz its the only one on the lot. Its not like they are a highend $100K car, Ive never had a prob driving a only one on the lot car if they think you are serious on buying.

DEalership here has a GTR that they will let you test if they think you are serious and have the $$$$.
