My First Upgrade via Stealership
My Z didn't come with a spoiler so I decided to let Nissan install my spoiler using Nissan parts. I know I'm getting charged more than should be allowed by law but I'm too damn chicken to drill holes in my trunk myself so I figured hey if they screw up they can make it right on their own dime. If I screw up with getting only one shot at getting it right which I never get it right the first time then it would cost me a lot.
Whomever labeled them the Stealership pegged them right. Just walking through the doors and observing the daily operations of that place that term is so fitting for them. I knew the price ahead of time so I'm ok with it to make my car look better but just watching the operations and even strolling through the front doors screams "You're going to get screwed today". Pulling into the parking lot and seeing the vultures start circling my car like a dead animal the term Stealership immediately popped into my head. |

Doesn't work at all. It does it you plan to keep the car under 60mph at all times. I was getting onto the freeway later at night and was proceeding to the 75-80mph point and then felt this bump that only hit the back. I looked in my rear view mirror and bye bye spoiler. Just have a shop or Nissan drill holes. Its a perfect and easy way to make it stay for good.

but as soon as I hit 75-80 mph on the fwy it flew off. I also had the Seibon Nismo Carbon Fiber Spoiler at the time so its a bit bigger than the sport spoiler. Its just a crapshoot when you just use the automotive double sided tape. Unless you live in a primarily cold and low humidity environment. I am in socal, and when this happened last summer it was hot for our part of town. Usually in summer itd range from 75-85F but last summer was 90+F all the time usually. Im sure its cause it never had the chance to properly set or anything but if you live anywhere with heat and humidity together constantly, I don't know if the tape would ever set unless you sat it in a shop or garage until it is immbolized

It's a shame it's like that for u op. My dealership is awesome (Hall Nissan in Virginia Beach). The BEST customer service I've ever had. They always fine a way to give me a discount. For example, I've had 2 370s and the first one I had threw some weird code that they had to call corp on. It was only my third visit and I didn't buy any of my cars there so I know it wasn't that. The fix would have been to replace the electrical gauges in the dash, but they tinkered until they fixed it and didn't charge me. I baby my car and they do too. U can't as for more than that.
I also have 2 Toyotas and around here - they are the ones that mess u over. My guess is some dealerships are good and some are bad

I'm just curious. What does a dealership charge to add a spoiler? I'm buying one soon, buy I'll be giving it to my local shop to drill.

That's where I bought my car and get it serviced there too. While I didn't enjoy the buying experience so much (doing everything they could try to get the most money out of me), the service has been excellent. They even gave me a free car wash and really cleaned out the interior while I was there for one of my free oil changes. |

They charge 2 labor hours (which normally takes 30 minutes if you know what you are doing)
