Having arthritis in my hands and a stupid habit of death-gripping the wheel, I find that driving gloves reduce the amount of fatigue and pain in my hands on long drives. I do feel a bit self-conscious when wearing them so I guess they might be a bit ridiculous.

They're not bad, a lot of people use them and you can grip the steering wheel better
