Does anyone else find the Z not very photogenic?
I'm not sure what it is about the Z. When I look at pictures of them online, I think they look okay, but don't really wow me.
But then I went to my local dealer today to check out a white 2016 Nismo and it is absolutely stunning in person. :yum: Is it just me, or do other folks feel this way? |
Just you.

The concept of seeing pictures online and in person are different. In person you get the the 3-D dimension that truly give perceptive of what's being viewed. |
I sort of agree with you, but have managed to take some nice shots of my cosmetically stock 370z. They do look better in person, stock for stock
|
I agree with you. Looks much better in person than photo.
Most members' photos are photoshopped or altered by some fancy phone app/lens. |

I kinda agree with you. The Z34's belt line is too high so it looks like stodgy. Either lower it or get nicer wheels. And you got to take pictures of it at certain angles. But "look" at it this way, some girls aren't that photogenic but are hot in person, and other girls are vice versa. Of course the ideal ones are the ones who are both photogenic and hot in person.
Off the top of my head, the cars I find photogenic are: FD3S, NSX, 991, Lambo Huracan. They're both photogenic and hot in person. |

This is just me ok. The art and science of photography is clearly missed and there are just too many who miss the point of good photography. In some aspect, a photographer failed to evoke an emotion or show the real deal when someone looks at a photograph and says it is much better in person. LOL on the "lenses alter" comment.

There are certain angles that she's not very flattering from, but they're few and far between.
Unless you're looking at mine. ******* dirty whore. Hasn't bathed in over a month. And she's got a couple of dents. :( Jerks. |
You think the Z is unphotogentic? Try getting a good pic of the meat magnet, I mean gtr.

I think the Z has the perfect booty for pics. Mines still new and stock but i find myself snapping random pics all the time http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...88eeb9d9ba.jpg

I think one of the tricks to photographing the Z is using low angles... like getting close to the ground. When you shoot a photo down at the car from above it tends to exaggerate it's proportions, especially the rear. Top-down shots also kind of miss some of the nuances of the car like the upswept steep angle where the a pillar meets the roofline. Low shots also tend to minimize the wheel gap on non-lowered cars, whereas top-down can draw attention to it a bit more. The car is photogenic, just like a lot of people can be photogenic, but it's ultimately up to the photographer to capture the best angles and lighting situations for the subject.

Just mod the car until you are happy with it. Nothing is ever perfect, but that doesn't mean you can't chase your own concept of perfection.
