Accidentally shifted from 3rd to 2nd
I accidentally shifted from 3rd to second in high rpm when I wanted to shift into 4th, my tires chirped a little bit and I instantly put it into 4th right after. Whats the probability I completely damaged my second gear? It felt fine after that as I continued to drive. Just a little worried I damaged my transmission.

I'd be more worried that you pulled the "money shift" and over-revved your engine. You'd know that right away though, I would think. Just remember the rev limiter won't save you if you downshift at too high a rev.

Yep. If you did any damage you would have known. The engine would have made a really expensive noise.

That's not going to help an over rev situation.

For future reference, what would it mean if the oil pressure light did come on, and I did hear a weird noise? |

Weird noise = bearing(s) gone bad. Possibly due to lack of oil. Could be other things.

You are fine. Just take it easy and take the Z for a long drive. Then inspect everything for leaks or weird sounds. These engines are made to take some abuse. Unless you keept it at 8K for several minutes, you are fine.

Also, before that happened the Challenger couldn't catch me, but then I ****** up and really slowed down, but he got out on me on the second street and I was super worried I damaged something so I just backed off. XD Thanks for all of the advice guys. I really appreciate it. |
