mods and warranty...

Hey guys I did a search but didn't come up with anything..

I have a 2016 with warranty and id like to do some mods but I'm not sure exactly how its going to effect my warranty. From what I'm gathering from my dealership is that what ever I change like exhaust for example if I end up having some type of engine issue they may ask me to reinstall the OEM exhaust to diagnose anything....

Anyone else have any experience with this?

It depends on the dealership - some are real picky, some not so much. Try asking 370Z owners in your area how each dealer handles mods.

They will/can void your warranty on the spot and can/will blame any issue on anything that you have modified as told to me by Nissan corporate directly.

This is true also..... Each center's service manager has the call.

Not exactly. They will deny the claim. Your warranty cannot be "voided". They have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the failure. So, if your oil cooler line comes loose and your engine gets toasted due to no oil, claim denied. If you install an intake and your CD player stops working, they would honor the warranty. They can tell you they won't work on it, but they can't magically put a black mark on your car's permanent record that your warranty is no longer valid.

If you just change out the CBE you will be fine, as a new exhaust it will not affect the emissions.

Alright thanks for the replies guys, ill have to check with some different dealers in my area and try and see what other local guys have done... its not leased for the record, changing suspension is going to be a sticky situation I feel haha

If you ever have any problems with the suspension and need to file warranty claim, yes.

Good reason for them to deny any work on the clutch system. But they already bend over backwards to try and deny any clutch system work, so I would go ahead and do it. Its the best mod out there other than a tune as far as I'm concerned :driving:

Warranties

Do some serious checking for YOUR states laws. They vary. I once had to remove the intakes and put the original back on, cause dealership said they could not diagnosis with the K&N 's.
I do not believe they can void your warranty. But be sure. Don't just accept someone's opinion.
Regards
