Your first line answers your question: If you drive automatic, don't buy a Z or a BMW, because that's 1/2 the fun of these cars.

HK stands for Harmon Kardon, the default soundsystem manufacturer for BMW. I think you can option up to Bose though.

Base Z? Nope I wouldn't do that. No leather, no heated seats, no navigation, no Bose, no deal.

Lease the 328i for 3 years, you won't regret it. It'll keep you entertained in the corners, it has enough pep to make the highway fun, and its a reasonably spacious do-it-all, daily, 4 season driver. After 3 years, you'll know whether you want a faster, better handling car.

In my case, after owning a 328i for 8 years, I knew I was ready for a dedicated sportscar, not another sports sedan.

In case you didn't catch it before, LEASE the Bimmer, don't buy it. Hope this helps.

If you aren't enough of a driving enthusiast to want a stick, I would get the Bimmer. Speaking from experience, do not buy a BMW, lease it.

A 328i is the type of car a spoiled girl gets for her sweet 16.

I've owned both and have replied a couple times. The Z is a sports car the BMW isn't. The Z is reliable, the BMW isn't. If you don't want to shift for yourself, don't buy a sports car. My Bimmer was a stick, but that's just me...I wouldn't own an automatic. Without a manual the BMW would have been totally boring. It did handle nice, but no where near the Z. Like has been said multiple times, if you decide on the Bimmer, do not buy, lease. They break all the time.

Someone this concerned with the opinions of others was born to drive a bmw. Seriously, drive both and buy the one you like.

You would be better off with the BMW i3

If you were bored in a automatic Z? U test drive the manual. But if you're bored in a Z, a 328 is half the performance capability of the Z, so you're just already contradicting yourself and I'm on page 2 and you never answered the purpose of your car. ...
