What now?

I have run out of modifications to do on my Z, yet this tax return is burning a hole in my pocket. Without going for forced induction, what would you recommend?

I have a 2012 Pearl White Base Coupe with:

-Garageline Catback Exhaust
-K&N Short Ram Intakes (also have MAF tubes and drop ins)
-OEM Aero package
-20mm hub-centric spacers
-Invidia test pipes (took them off)
-Uprev Tune
-Pioneer Double din with backup camera and upgraded sound

I would get myself a set of sport rays, but i recently got new tires...

edk370 02-05-2016 12:39 AM

LS3 swap.

90 ST 02-05-2016 01:38 AM

LSD!! Stat
Also based on what you have done I wouldn't say you've run out of mods....there is a lot more you could do.

Z_ealot 02-05-2016 01:43 AM

Suspension modifications go a long way towards improving on the fun to drive factor too :)

JesseG805 02-05-2016 01:57 AM

I use my Z as my daily. Don't think i'd make it to the track any time soon. I can't go lower for two reasons. 1. my driveway is way too steep. 2. CSUN (My school) has super high speed bumps and awkward lot entrances. I scrape my exhaust as it is.

Hows your Z holding up?

Tax Return + Bank Account = Savings

Just because you have money don't mean you HAVE to spend it, LOL.

scottIN 02-05-2016 06:14 AM

401K.
Take that money, invest it for a tax deferred 10% return for the next 25 years. You could buy a couple of 370s at that point.

Ported and polished intake manifold/throttle bodies and a re-tune. Or pay towards any debt you have.

gbrettin 02-05-2016 02:43 PM

I was writing a list of stuff and then I deleted the list. Part of the fun in modifying cars is the research.

no... just no... you have lots to do.

Sell the Garageline and get an ARK CBE or FI CBE
Sell the K&N Short ram intakes and look at a long tube CAI (Nismo or Stillen are best)
Put some HFC's or TP's back onto the car lol.

YOU NEED CARBON FIBER LOL! :tiphat:

Oil Cooler? I just put one on our Z to get her ready for summer :)

victort 02-06-2016 06:53 PM

Volks or Work Wheels

Breadz 02-06-2016 07:22 PM

Needs a duckbill and forgestar rims

JesseG805 02-07-2016 04:23 AM

Put my test pipes back on and it took all of 1 hour to have my neighbors at my door haha

I also installed an aluminum undershroud while changing my oil today.

This crazy California wind is also driving me nuts. A box flew off of a truck bed and hit the left side of my bumper this morning.

But I really do appreciate all of the feedback!

hrtbrknprince 02-07-2016 08:16 AM

Oil Cooler
HD CSC
Lip or Side skirts maybe?
BBK
Coilovers
LSD
Detail supplies
Bucket Seats and Harness Bar
Gas
Change all the fluids in the car

There's almost always something to service on a daily driver :)

jaedub 02-07-2016 10:27 PM

Damn, I just graduated from CSUN in December. Would've been cool to have a fellow Z enthusiast at CSUN.

The money is already taxed (it's income tax refund) so it doesn't need to be "tax deferred".

Good luck getting 10% a year for the next 25 years. Hell, good luck getting 10% THIS YEAR. Have you seen the market dropping the last two weeks?
