370z hardware Torque Specs
I am working on my car and need to know the torque spec for ________ bolt.
This post will server as a reference guide which will be updated over time. Please let me know any additions you have to the info below. - Unless otherwise specified, all number values below are in ft/lbs. ================================================== Suspension
================================================== Drivetrain
================================================== Interior
================================================== Brake
================================================== Additional Helpful Info ================================================== Diagram icon definitions http://www.the370z.com/attachments/n...ue-symbols.jpg |
Might want to include the FSM in the "Additional Helpful Info" section. Factory torque specs are in there.
|
yah, i posted in your other thread to check service manual..?

I thought i'd make it easier than saying: "Go find, download, interpret the FSM for our car." |
I think this thread is a good idea. Keep it to the basic stuff, and let people read the fsm for less common items.

There are variety of torques for the seat bolts it appears. Attached is Page 85 from the 2011 FSM.
Looks like 36 ft-lb for the bolts attaching the seat bracket to the floor and 16 ft-lb for the bolts under the seat attaching the seat to the bracket. There are some bolts on the side of seat that take 34 ft-lb. |
yah i know this cause i did a diy for raising the seats.. check it out in the DIY section.
here's a nutshell version: step1: Raise seat. step2: Done! :tup: |

I snapped a bolt looking at what i discovered was 350z torque specs Now i have to drill it out and buy 1 new bolt and square nut please review the numbers here and match them to the 370z FSM before working on your car REFER to 370z FSM @ page FSU-14 |
Always follow the German approach to torque. Make everything "Guttenteit".

Also true for German virgins.

Great Post - Thanks - :tiphat:

Anyone got torque specs for valve covers and intake plenum? Much appreciated!

The FSM for my 2011 specifies a specific tightening order for the bolts that secure the valve covers and the intake manifold collector. And the valve covers specify a 2-stage torque setting. See attached PDF.

Someone should take this post down before more people overtorque their stuff. Most of the numbers in OP's post are supposed to be in NM and not FT LBS!!!
Only thing that's kinda correct is the wheel lugs torque specs, everything else will cause issues. |
