How's your brake ??
 

I have had a small trouble on my 2010 Sport. Sometimes it trembles when I do the brake. It disappears after getting rotoring(? I'm not sure how to spell it, sorry) service, but I'm just tired of getting it anymore.

Is this trembling common to all Z series/trims? As I know my Z is equipped with Nissan's sports brake. I have been satisfied with its performance, but I still feel annoying for the trembling.

How's yours? Or any suggestion for better brakes?

So it goes away after you get the rotors turned? Are your pads good? I would say maybe warped rotors, but having them turned would not fix that. What are the road conditions when you feel this? I have not had any trouble with my sport brakes.

Yes it temporarily went away after the rotors tuned, but is not really solved.

It trembles only on specific speed range, and also trembles at everywhere on that range.

The trembling speed range might change, but anyway its trembling occurs again.

What year type/trim do you have on your Z ??

I've got an 11 T/S. Do you have spacers? Are you feeling it through the brake pedal, or through the steering wheel? Tire balance problem? Suspension components tight? When you feel the trembles, it's when you are on the brakes right? Hard or soft braking or both?

Everytime I get maintenance at dealership, the inspection sheets say no problem for my steering wheel, tires, and suspension.

It is very nice but I just wonder a bit that you have not had any trembling issue on your Nissan brake yet.

Because I do my own work.

Has your shop test drove it to see if they could find the trouble? When did you have your rotors turned?, miles, why were they turned (existing problem they found / you found) & who turned them? if you had a dial indicator, you could do a run-out test & see if they were warped.

usually rotors, maybe get some good quality new ones and start over

My wife "warped" our rotors within 20K miles with poor braking habits when it was her DD. I replaced the rotors and pads and have 50K miles on it now with zero braking issues :driving:

Your best bet is going to be to start over with some new rotors, new pads, proper bedding, and practice good braking habits going forward :twocents:

A few tips on proper braking habits:

turning rotors are a quick fix that is more of a bandaid especially on a sports car.

i had the same issue with a rumbling/vibrating in the steeringwheel during braking at a specific speed point. over the speed was fine, under fine but only between 40 to 65.

i changed my rotors + pads last year and everything is good again.

oh and another thing, don't go through deep puddles if you can avoid them... i think thats why i warped mine. making wakes with hot/warm rotors touching cold water and rapid cooling.

and the holding the brake pedal down too hard during summer on my dd home from work :shakes head:

Good points ... especially pedal pressure. If you think the brakes are hot and don't feel comfortable putting an AT car in N with the e-brake on while stopped at a light, at least try to minimize the brake pressure you apply - only use enough to keep the car from inching forward. If you give yourself some room in front of you when you know the brakes are hot, you can use a light touch on the brake pedal and occasionally creep forward to minimize the localization of the pad deposits while the rotors have a chance to cool.

U turned the rotors but didn't change pads?
Like u washed the car but didn't dry it..?

that's cause you put the compound on during a swap but haven't driven :bowrofl:

or maybe you're just too fast too furious and blackened your rotors.

oh or you're talking about the pads :wtf2:
