Nismo interior question
Hi all new to the forum,
I just purchased a 2016 370Z Nismo tech 7AT - black. I traded in a Camaro SS, let me tell you this car is much faster and more refined than the Camaro. I absolutely LOVE it!!! Two quick questions. In the center console by the cup holder there are 3 blank closed cutouts that look like a toggle switch would go there, what are they. Also on the media display there is an antenna emblem in the top right of the display, what is it for? Thanks, Mike |
The two outside blanks are for the heated seats option, and I think the center one is the convertible top?
Antenna emblem is showing cell reception for if you Bluetooth link your phone with your head unit. |
Also, welcome. :)

Congrats and welcome, Mike! :tiphat:

there is a thread somewhere in the interior section where we swapped out those blanks for actual rockers. check them out.

Welcome to the forums!!!! Post some pics!!
Those three blank buttons are annoying for sure (On the non touring models). Not sure why Nissan decided not to put either a) put some sort of cover or b) a small hole for a phone or something else. People sometimes asks, you have the top of the line model and you have three blanks in there?m:icon14: |
does the nismo tech come with heated seats? mine didn't and i haven't seen one of the newer nismos with them but if they did i, that would be awesome, i kind of miss that option

Heated seats have no place in a nismo trim.

What, for weight savings? The pound of wire and a switch something like that weighs? Or some misguided notion that being an enthusiast is at odds with being comfortable? |

I'd say because you would be warm from pissing your pants driving that monster. |

In my opinion, if you buy a top of the line Z (Nismo), it doesn't need 3 blank buttons.
|
I would say heated seats are "out of character" for a car that is supposed to be track focused. Having said that, am I always surprised how few upgrade options the Nismo 370z has available.
If a potential buyer has cash in hand and they want to upgrade, who is Nissan to say no? Just my 2 cents M |
I feel like people here are losing sight of what the NISMO trim is supposed to be. It's not supposed to be the "top model." It's the performance/track-oriented model. If you want the "top model" for comfort purposes, look at the Touring model.
Then again, I think Nissan is losing sight of what the NISMO trim is supposed to be as well. A tech package and automatic transmission made the NISMO less of an enthusiast car, as soccer moms are now able to freely get in one and drive away. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of the "standard transmissions 4 lyfe," types. I just believe certain things should not be done. |
