Six months in

Who still loves driving this thing?

Me: I've done 3 track days and I drive it almost daily. I still love driving it, no matter where I'm going. In fact, I've never had a car that I still noticed myself *enjoying* every time I drove it after owning it this amount of time. I love the sound with intake/exhaust, I love the view, I love the seating position, and I love the general handling most of all.

I have to say, I'm a bit bummed that 14" rotors can't even stand up to 8/10ths driving on the track, but other than that, all's well. I read car blogs incessantly and I still don't feel like there's another car I should have bought.

Anyone else? Rants/raves?

4 months in here. no complaints at all, and also agree about enjoying the drive everytime i get in

6 months, I love the car more each day. Part of it is the seat feels better each day, started out a bit stiff but has really come to support me, the power just seems to respond better through the whole powerband after 5,000 miles put on the engine.

I think the seats not only "mold" a little to your body, but I feel like I am getting more used to the driving position, compared to the 350 it replaced. And the engine just keeps getting better the more broken in it is. I'm at 7000 miles now and it just keeps getting better

8 months here. 1 track day with more to come. I am still lovin' every minute of it.

kannibul 11-10-2009 08:14 AM

Bought mine in June, so I can't claim 6 months yet, but I have to say that I'm glad I bought it every time I drive it, which, isn't often enough. I've "only" got around 2100-2200 miles on it...

Mostly I drive it from my house to a friend of mine's house and back. I hate parking in a parking lot because I know some moron will ding it, so I never take it to walmart, or any place to eat, etc.

MindFusion FX 11-10-2009 08:42 AM

well these r good comments to read. im in the market for a 370 so im glad everyone still likes the car

bullitt5897 11-10-2009 10:40 AM

9 months in on my baby and every second is a dream! Plus I have had a couple of track days! Any down time with the car and I get a lil depressed *literally* the car is that much fun and the highlight of my day usually lol but I got Call of Duty MW2 to hold me over until my TT build gets finished

elmz 11-10-2009 01:14 PM

3 weeks in =) although I still enjoyed driving my 350 more I'm starting to like it more and more. I just hit 1k and its starting to develop a little rumble, I hated how quite it was.

zZSportZz 11-10-2009 01:37 PM

Like I tell everyone...every time I get into my car it feels like a mini vacation.
Best. Purchase. Ever

Modshack 11-10-2009 01:51 PM

6 months and 4200 miles in for me. I'm still really impressed at how good the car is on every level, especially at it's price point. I've had 8 Porsches...No need to go there anymore for me..

ChrisSlicks 11-10-2009 02:22 PM

Only thing to disappoint me was the brakes, really don't feel like I should have to spend $4K to fix something that should have been adequate to start with. Love everything else about the car.

what's wrong with the brakes?

They are fine for street driving, but under auto-cross or light track duty they have weird fade characteristics where the ABS goes crazy and causes a dangerous condition. Something in the calipers can't handle the heat, changing pads, fluid, and rotors makes no difference.

KillerBee370 11-10-2009 07:22 PM

5,600 miles since Feb. and loving every single second of it. Still. Every time I get in it.

I kind of enjoyed my Evo IX every time I got in it but in the end, that was just an econo-box with a turbo attached whereas the 370z has an actual "luxurious" factor. Even better.

bluzman 11-10-2009 07:39 PM

10 months and closing in on 19,000 miles. Still lovin' it like the day I drove away from the dealer. :D

vehl 11-10-2009 11:58 PM

4 months and 6k km. hey, bluzman, does the car feel torquier after 19000miles? im hoping my car's still running in. its good now but hoping it'll oonly improve..

AK370Z 11-11-2009 12:11 AM

I wouldn't say it feels torquier but it seems like somewhere between 5K and 10K miles the whole feel of the car was inexpicably better - power, handling, etc. Hard to explain but it was as if everything had just stabilized/settled and was playing nice together...or it could be a total placebo affect or a flashback to something took back in the '60s. :rofl2:

SOFLY00 11-12-2009 07:34 PM

well dont own 1 yet but going to trade my car lol! will update you guys

j.arnaldo 11-12-2009 07:59 PM

I presume the "thing" is your 370...If I'm still in love with my '04.5 350Z Touring Coupe, I definitely understand your sweet affair with your monZter! And, yes, after dropping in a K&N air filter, I felt an overall improvement in the torque band; kind of a "solid" feel to her, upon stepping on the gas! Is it me, or is it a real improvement??

I'm just shy of 6 months and love it! 7600 miles on her so far and love it. I have to agree with the seat becoming much more comfortable too.
