You are not buying the Z from Ford, you are buying it from the dealer.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
Good Gosh! Leave the guy alone. The warranty is good, but "limited " . Engine and trans are not a big risk for the warrantor. The risk is low because "we" (adverage) don't keep our cars very long. How 'bout some positive input here.

Please define "good."
OP doesn't seem to be aware of the limited part. Just trying to save him/her some heartache later on. I'm positive the salesperson is trying to pull one over on OP.

Read the service contract to find out exactly what is covered. How limited is limited? I noticed something about a deductible on the sticker - how much is it?
Just realize that the policy is probably next to worthless (due to exclusions, deductibles, &c) and you WILL pay for it. There may not be a line on the paperwork saying "$xxx for ltd warranty" but you will pay for it. Don't let my opinions on the "free" warranty keep you from buying the car. If you like the car and are comfortable with the OTD price, go for it. The warranty paperwork shouldn't take up too much room in the glove box.

Dude you buy the Z because you like the car and they are offering you a good price for it. But don't fall into buying it just because they give you such mambo jumbo crazy sale offers.
Car dealers would promise you the sun and the moon verbally but once you sign the documents your just good as nothing to them after the sale! We are here to help advise, we are not negative people we just learn from our past experience and hopefully this forum would be able to save you the same headache others experienced. Besides you open this thread and ask our opinions. At the end of the day it's your decision. Not we are giving you a hard time. We want you to enjoy the Z with us but not be screwed by a car dealer saying your car is guaranteed for life. Last edited by Zoren 370; 01-10-2016 at 12:46 PM. |

If you negotiated a good deal for the car, get it. That warranty is to get people to choose their dealership over another and may or may not be useful to you in the future. Really shouldn't matter to you if you are happy with the deal. When you go to sign the paper work is where they will try and sell you the extras. Key replacement, interior stain protectant, paint protection, GAP insurance, a more "extensive" warranty, etc. Be careful.

From my experience these warranties have very fine restrictions.
Things typically will void the warranty: -ANY mods done to engine -MUST service your car every service interval at that dealer (that's how they make the money back, or continue to make money) -Warranty not valid for next owner Good luck |
