my re-11's for 265/285 were 150 bucks more than the s04's of the same stagger. Quote:

Oh, I've driven out there a little too, love driving around most of BC. 6 months for me is about 40-50k, so couple summers for most people. LOL Quote:

I got s04 for the rear as the oem fronts have plenty of life left and I agree while they seem to be good for DD I was very underwhelmed by the s04 ability to grip dry during a 3-4K launch. Will definitely look into something stickier next tire change.

265/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rears. yes i do have the sport 'rays' as well.
i did change the offset a bit off from stock (20mm difference from the 30mm) but haven't noticed any issues in regards to handling/tire shifting. |
305's can actually fit on the sport rays too with re11's, we have a few members running that.
careful on other brands though as they may run fatter/skinnier than the bridgestone |

I don't care what people say about my choice of tires because in the end I know what my limitations are and what my goals are for my car. I understand though that you shouldn't also just get the worst tire out there just to save some money. I'm happy with these Comp2 A/S's and I was very confident going 80 today in the rain and it gripped pretty well on the highway. |

I'm happy with these Comp2 A/S's and I was very confident going 80 today in the rain and it gripped pretty well on the highway.[/QUOTE] I am thinking of getting the Comp 2 A/S as well. What did you have before? How are the Comp 2A/S compares to what you had? Tirerack actually ranks the Comp 2 A/S as number one in the ultra all season category. We all know Michelin PSS are great. I have them in my Miata, but they do cost a pretty penny. I don't see the need for them if the car is used only as a DD. |
My '09 is also a daily driver. I'm on my third set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The car is spec'd for high performance tires. You may not see the need for them but when you are doing 85 mph at zero dark thirty and there is a piece of furniture that fell off of some overloaded pickup truck in the middle of your freeway lane and you need to make an evasive manoeuver or brake hard and swerve, you will be glad you didn't scrimp on cheaper tires.

But I got your point. Thanks for your advice. :D Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk |

the underlying message is you get what you pay for. you gonna get cheap tires? you're going to end up paul walkering yourself if you ever decide to get heavy footed. getting good tires still won't stop you from paul walker'ing yourself if you fail to control your car but atleast it won't be a mechanical failure just pilot error. |
