Missing the Z :(
My parents were gracious enough back in the fall to allow me to store my Z in their garage. I was over there on Christmas Eve and pulled off the cover and stared at her for a while :(
I really really miss driving the car, and am so excited for Spring!! The second it gets out of storage it is getting four new Michelin Pilot Super Sports installed, also all new brakes. For those of you who have your Z in storage.. what is the first thing you're planning on doing to it once it's out of storage? :) |
Big fat burnout!

Geting an oil change.

74 degrees here in Georgia today..................Sorry Guys, LOL.
Drove mine to the gym and then tucked it back in the garage, probably do the same tomorrow. |

I also ordered Michelin pilot super sport. 255/35/19 front and 305/30/19 rear. 255's came in, 305's coming in this week.

If you change the oil right before storage and pull it out 4ish months later is it necessary to change the oil again?
To put things in prospective I know many Z's sit on dealer lots for quite a while and the dealer is definitely not changing any oil upon purchase and most people drive them 5,000 miles to the next oil change. I'm thinking sitting for4 months or so with fresh oil and then driving 5,000 miles won't be too detrimental but would love to get your thoughts. And back on topic... once winter ends in Boston, probably mid June, I'll let it run for a while, reduce my tire pressure from 48 psi to 35ish, drive it around town for a bit and give it a nice wash and detail. Then repair the rock chips on the Nismo rims with the KAV touch up paint and see how that goes. Driving my focus ST through the winter, but can't wait to get back to rear wheel drive! |

Whew... I've got a laundry list of things to do. Oil change, Brake fluid change, SS Brake lines, AAM oil spacer, Level 10 transmission, Aeromotive FPR, Aeromotive Stealth 340, 750cc injectors, CJM fuel rails, ECU Tek Tune, CAI, duckbill spoiler, Nitto NT05s...
I'll be ready to jump into some turbos in 2017, hopefully sooner though. |
It is a bit fun to have it in storage cause every time you take it out of storage it seems like a brand new car haha

I have yet to store mine this year in North Carolina. It's been unseasonably warm, so I think I may take it out for a Sunday drive today. And Monday. And Tuesday. Then I'll put it away. I store mine up on jack stands, as the RE-11's don't like to be flat-spotted. First thing I do when I take it out from storage, give it a loving bath!

I don't store mine ever. There are folks in Canada that drive theirs year round. That is love. I have the Blizzaks and I drive it all the time. If the weather is going to be extremely bad, I take a taxi or get my wife to drop me off in her Civic.
