400 hp 3L biturbo next generation Z

Just read in our local papers about Nissan moving to a 3 liter V6 biturboed engine ie VR series and first vehicle next year will be in the Infiniti.Q50.
I'll bet the next Z will come with this engine with 400 HP. What will I do when this come out next year. Time to trade my 370Z in

This kind of news are popping everywhere.

KngScottieV 12-19-2015 10:40 PM

I'd hope that Nissan would up the HP for the Z over the Q. 450 hp and/or maybe 3.2L, something like that.

I'm willing to bet the new Z will have 380 HP on the dot. I seriously doubt it'll have 400 HP+

There's Some Very Good News About The Next Nissan Z Car

''According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, who recently spoke with Aoki, the next Z car could end up being less expensive than the 370Z, which carries a base price of $30,000''

"next Z car could end up being less expensive than the 370Z, which carries a base price of $30,000. That’s not exactly affordable for many younger buyers, and isn’t the Z supposed to be relatively cheap? Just look at the Scion FR-S and its $25k sticker price."

if they want to lump me in with FRS/BRZ owners then fuck it raise the price.

Agree,but I dont think we'll see a v6 400hp in the next z.
"For the successor to the 370Z, Nissan may choose to come up with a cheaper model. "Now the sports car for some people is just too expensive." Nissan, Aoki indicated, wants to "focus more in the future at a younger generation" regarding its entry-level sports car. "
Probably a 4cyl turbo.

if it's only the baby 4 banger engine the Z will die. well to me at least.

super low price and baby engine it'll just become a terrible Nissan BRZ/FRS. it will be like owning a 2003 350Z........in 2016. and not because you bought it new and held onto it. like no you got it now because you're 18 and its cheap.

also that article like the 10 previous ones are most likely not true.

Q50/60 production model debut is in a couple weeks. maybe more details will help form a picture on the Z.

Dirk McGurck 12-22-2015 01:39 PM

There would be nothing wrong with the FRS/BRZ if they didn't come with some actual horsepower. 200HP is laughable. The Civic SI comes with more stock. I'm fine with a little smaller of a car, at least lighter. And push the wheels to the corners so that we have a true FMR layout, like the S2000 was. That's what kills the Toybaru for me, the S2000 is a better all around car and cheaper, and it's 10 years older.

A perfect Z35 for me would be either 3.0L Hi RPM or 2.5L-3.0L TT Hi RPM motor in a 3000lb body, same or smaller body measurements as Z34, pure RWD, and with no electric motors. The Z should remain a more affordable Cayman S, not try to be a hybrid crapola or hardtop Miata.

its not one or the other(400hp V6 or 4cyl)... the 3.0 Turbo also comes in a 300hp configuration which is more likely for a smaller cheaper base Z

thank you lol

I've actually been thinking about what the press release said that the engine is identical in 300 or 400hp just a tune........if the "sport" options are available for both like wheels,, brakes, etc... it would save money just getting 300hp then a tune in theory.

That's nothing compared to Lexus ECUs. You still have to go piggy back and they've been out for decades.

lol speaking of lexus... the is300 and is350 both using the 3.5 v6. one pushes 30x and the other is detuned to craptastic 200hp.

seriously tehy must put the rev limiter to like 3000rpm or something but holy crap why didn't they just do the is200t, is250rwd, is350 awd

durp.

the is250's engine has more HP than the detuned 3.5 ughhhh why lexus why?

UNKNOWN_370 12-22-2015 04:59 PM

Cuz Toyota sucks... The FT-1 won't be built. So the Supra will probably be a turbo, lightened hatchback version of the RCF that will have chassis reinforcement and an overpriced sticker...

Why? Cuz Toyota.

Yea it terrible. My friend with a isf just got a whole ecu from Japan recently and it was not cheap at all lol

mishuko 12-23-2015 07:52 AM

probably because the frs / ft86 sales dropped off?

they're scared because the market segment they're aiming at will go with a proven machine like the c63 / m3/4, audi rs4.

plus new machines coming out gt350, nsx and a slew of new engines from the germangs.

i hope they remake the supra though. if they can join the 'z' segment it'll be nice for a mid-ranged option. maybe.

sales dropped because people realized the cars are awful. little stance kids are about the only ones who still buy them.

the Q60 will go up against those germans you named. the Z isn't a luxury segment like those but on paper performance wise possibly. the money is much less too. think about the sticker on the cars you listed. the M3/4 base mid 60s as well as the C63. the next Z loaded with the 400hp engine I assume would come in at around the 45k sticker area.

Toyota probably will not make that ft-1/supra concept. I wish they would but how knows.

jwick 12-23-2015 08:11 AM

You aren't getting an M4 in the 60's. **** the one I test drove was nearly a hundred K.

yes I know but the base is 65 and change. I optioned one out and it came out to 105k. for that I would be in a GT-R spanking every M4 I saw.

And to get one that cheap you'd probably have to special order it cuz they don't stock them with no options. At the Lexus driving event when they rolled out the RC line they had a M4 as a competitor. Driving instructor told me the sticker was $94k. **** that!!! Give me a C7 and $35k in the glove box.

or a Z06 C7..........just saying lol

but in the end a C7 is cheaper and the mods are much cheaper than something german. hell I think a SC kit for the C7 only cost my buddy 6k

Yup and a cam, intake, exhaust and tune C7 is going to run circles around a M4
