seriously tehy must put the rev limiter to like 3000rpm or something but holy crap why didn't they just do the is200t, is250rwd, is350 awd durp. the is250's engine has more HP than the detuned 3.5 ughhhh why lexus why? |
Cuz Toyota sucks... The FT-1 won't be built. So the Supra will probably be a turbo, lightened hatchback version of the RCF that will have chassis reinforcement and an overpriced sticker...
Why? Cuz Toyota. |

Yea it terrible. My friend with a isf just got a whole ecu from Japan recently and it was not cheap at all lol |
probably because the frs / ft86 sales dropped off?
they're scared because the market segment they're aiming at will go with a proven machine like the c63 / m3/4, audi rs4. plus new machines coming out gt350, nsx and a slew of new engines from the germangs. i hope they remake the supra though. if they can join the 'z' segment it'll be nice for a mid-ranged option. maybe. |

the Q60 will go up against those germans you named. the Z isn't a luxury segment like those but on paper performance wise possibly. the money is much less too. think about the sticker on the cars you listed. the M3/4 base mid 60s as well as the C63. the next Z loaded with the 400hp engine I assume would come in at around the 45k sticker area. Toyota probably will not make that ft-1/supra concept. I wish they would but how knows. |
You aren't getting an M4 in the 60's. **** the one I test drove was nearly a hundred K.

400 hp 3L biturbo next generation Z

And to get one that cheap you'd probably have to special order it cuz they don't stock them with no options. At the Lexus driving event when they rolled out the RC line they had a M4 as a competitor. Driving instructor told me the sticker was $94k. **** that!!! Give me a C7 and $35k in the glove box. |

but in the end a C7 is cheaper and the mods are much cheaper than something german. hell I think a SC kit for the C7 only cost my buddy 6k |

Yup and a cam, intake, exhaust and tune C7 is going to run circles around a M4 |

wow being made in fukushima.

Wow, you guys really loaded your M4. My build came out to $69,145, granted 6 mt with cloth seats (equivalent to my Z), plus rims, adaptive suspension & metallic paint. Contacted a west coast dealer and he was willing to knock a $1,000 off of that price if I ordered with him.
Local dealer here insisted on msrp only, on special orders but gave me a European Delivery quote of $65,600 on my build. Very tempting indeed and the Mrs would love it. I'll wait till the Q60 comes out as I believe that would more than suit my needs but it will not be an M4 competitor. One notch below the M4, but I think the price/class/performance equation of the Q60 will be hard to beat. |
yea unfortunately the supra/ft will probable just be a pipe dream :(
the point though is the market is starting to pick up again with more options albeit on the higher end of the money scale. problem with sports cars is they are niche cars. the z closer to a GT car is even more niche. would be nice to get a true coupe from toyota to add a little more spice to the mix. or if they would just scrap the rear seats in the RC drop the wheelbase a few inches and drop the SC line of their cars then tada! i think that'd be a winning formula. hell even if they just rebrand it as the 'FT' or 'RT' or whatever the fk. |
