NISMO 370 and rain
So I am very close to picking up this car as my DD. Yes it is harsh but I don't care. Will be driven all year except if there is any snow.
How is it in the rain if you drive responsibly? My g37s is good in the rain (not great) but in a bad storm on the PA turnpike for over 2 hours this summer with ponding on the road it held its own as long as I was driving slow. The g has 45s in the back but the NISMO has much bigger tires so wonder if there is a difference. thx. |
The Z is my daily driver... It is not a Nismo, but I get the idea... You have to take it slow. When I go to work in the morning and its raining, the car doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. You can't drive like an ***, honestly, the fastest I ever take it when it is wet outside is 70mph, but even that feels WAYYY to fast. You just have to drive slowly, don't be in a rush when you go anywhere and it is wet out!

To me the tires on the NISMO really dont seem to hold all too well, so when you are driving in the rain I would leave the VDC on and not drive like a jackass, but I DD my car with no problems. Course it only rains maybe 4 times a year here in vegas :p Its pretty low so I wouldn't go bombing through puddles or anything.

Bigger tires nor any electronic doodads will save you in the rain. Same rules apply to any moving vehicle driving in the wet. Slow down and go easy on the steering, brakes and throttle.

It's my DD and I have no problems driving in the rain. It rains a **** ton here in Georgia to give you an idea. Just take it easy with any car and watch for traffic around you. |
This is ridiculous...

I have driven mine in the rain, and it's like any other car when driving in the rain, drive cautious and don't drive like it's dry, that will keep you out if trouble,as handling it's pretty good in general and it feels secure on the turns, so drive responsible and you should be fine.. mine ain't a Nismo but you get the idea.

Either way, just drive cautiously and you'll be fine. |

Summer tires are made to work in the rain/wet, otherwise there will be a warning label telling you "DRIVE IN THE WET AT YOUR OWN RISK"...they're just not made to handle extreme performance in the rain, in other words, don't drive your car to the limit...I've driven my Z, and many "high performance summer tires" in the rain at high speed, they will not slip or be deemed "dangerous" as long as you drive with caution like you should in the rain...don't try to "pop a wheelie", or drift through sharp curves and you'll be fine...

My Nismo is great regardless of rain or not. I leave the VDC on 99% of the time as well as SynchroRevMatch. Just don't be a tard and hold back on the quick, high-revving shifts while it's wet and there's no issues.

You will be fine if you dont drive like a jackass....The Nismo is only 350hp....its not a supercar.....
