Default Pickup trucks, happened again

Not to belabor a previous post, but when I moved from California to Missouri with my 86 Rx7, I noticed that pickup trucks would occasionally tailgate, and I mean so close I could see the driver's teeth, and sit on my bumper in the morning shining headlights into my cabin. They were so close I could see shadows from the hair on my hands. Over the years, individuals I met, including my neighbors, allowed they did not like "Furin" cars especially Japanese sports cars. The same happened with my 09' 370Z. From December 2014 to November 2015, I drove a Dodge Challenger. Didn't happen once. Now I'm back in a Z, only one month and the following story has happened twice.
On Saturday I was driving up my street, a quiet residential neighborhood with a speed limit that goes from 35 to 25. I was on the way to the woods to go hiking. At the one stop sign on my long street, I saw a large black vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed. I pulled out and continued on at 35. Within seconds, he was on my bumper. He raced up to me at a high rate of speed and stopped inches from my bumper. And he stayed there. I looked in the door side mirror. It was a primer black Chevy, stacked quad headlights, pickup with a lift kit and no front plate. The driver was late teens/early twenties, short blonde hair, ball cap. I drove about an eighth of a mile and slowed (with signal) to turn onto a side street. The driver of the Chevy pickup laid on the horn. I was pissed and yelled "What's your problem redneck!" He honked again and gave me the finger.
I'm an older guy and old school. I will keep my cell phone (a flip phone...I told you. old) out of my pocket and on to call the police next time. Any suggestions? This was in Blue Springs Missouri on Roanoke drive between highway 7 and Adams Dairy

don't let it get to you man... people will honk at you making a right when you come to a complete stop behind the line on a red.

or when you're letting pedestrians cross.

i only honk at idiot drivers when it's clearly safe (i see around them) and no pedestrians are cross and i give them a 5 second count. or if they swerve into my lane. or if i'm warning of danger zone.

you're older and you don't need to deal with crazies. the last thing you want is a young dumbarse follows you and you end up in the ER or worst.

Well I found one effective of my overly loud straight pipe exhaust. There isn't a single car even remotely close behind or next to me any more if I don't want them to be.

Some drivers are just like that. Not too long ago, I had some woman in a POS sedan tailgating me through a 35 mph zone. Came up to a stop light that was red, so I stopped, and she was literally 6 inches from the rear of my Z. Light turns green, I start moving straight through the intersection. She turns left and honks at me on her way out. How brave of you to honk at a car going the speed limit as your leaving.

Another time, I remember was when I was in a line stopped at another light with some traffic looking to merge from the right as the cars get moving again. Light turns green, and when I can start moving again, I instead give this vehicle to the right an opportunity to enter. Guy behind me in one of those 'bro-dozers', lays on his horn like crazy. Well, excuse me from showing a fellow motorist some f%#k'n courtesy. The nerve of me to delay you.

A third incident I can recall (and I might have been a little bit of a jerk on this one), was when some lady driving a civic was trying to pass me on the left while going uphill. My Z can handle the odd incline just fine. Especially if I down shift. This woman was giving this old, rust bucket civic all it could take, and just couldn't pass me. When we got to the top of the hill (it wasn't that far), she guns it, cuts me off, and gives me a honk for her troubles. So sorry I didn't make way for you. How dare I drive on your road and get in your way.

So, yeah. They're out there. Just try to drive defensively and be courteous to other drivers. (Of course, having a .45 in the car, just in case, doesn't hurt either.)

My other vehicle is a lifted 2500HD Chevy (I tow a 30ft toy hauler and go off roading regularly) and do not drive like a jack ***. The problem is the person, not the vehicle.

Not to get political, but this country is seriously beginning to scare me. There seems to be some sort of redneck fever going around and it is very contagious. I have the occasional problem with pick up drivers, but my pet peeve is why do all of them seem to have their fog lights on when it isn't foggy? Drives me nuts.

Good advice everyone. Yes, I am too old for that. Don't need another heart attack either (made it 6 months now). As to the vehicle, I used to be a traffic accident investigator. I got pretty good at identifying patterns of behavior and so forth. Sure, it is the driver, not the vehicle, but, I've noticed here in Missouri it is usually a pick up truck playing bully and usually a Chevy...Can't help what I observe.

Speaking of which: Why are so many bad/aggressive women drivers in Jeep Cherokees? Nearly every time I see a Jeep Cherokee, it's a woman driving it, and most of them drive that vehicle like maniacs. What is it about that particular SUV that attracts crazy female drivers?

not just that... most of the SUV's come with blindspot indicators... they don't even use them! almost getting side swipped from them all the time. i even see their damn indicators turn on.

I have notice close people at lights too. I just thought it was the angle of the rear hatch window. you need to see the cars rear bumper when stopped at a red light for those who missed that question on the exam.
