took back my deposit and...
Taking delivery of a new 09 G37 tomorrow. Infiniti gave me a killer deal nissan could not match. A G37s fully loaded with all packages except nav n some other insignificant package for 37.5k. The car was 43.5k. I'm getting a special 1.9% financing rate and 6k off msrp. I will make a 20k deposit n pay off the rest of the car in 2 years. And I hav 6k leftover for mods. (I originally was gonna put 26k down.
At 35k for a Z with just a sprt pkage it just didn't seem worth it monitarily compared to the sport pkg, htd leather, premium sound, the moonroof n loads of other lil options not found in the Z ( I kno this is Gt lux n not as much sport but...) just does it for me. I get the same sport package in the G n I will do all the mods I planned on the Z except I will be spending a lot more money on suspension & coilovers due to the cars size. I will turn it into a skyline... I kno sum hate when people do jdm transformations but I really luv the original cars n I do it as respect to japanese sports. I just wanna wish everyone well, happiness n safety in there Z's. Even the people that gave me a hard time. God bless yall. I'm still gonna come to the forum n see wats goin on. I'm sad that I'm not getting the Z tho cuz I like it a lot.Maybe I'll buy a used Z l8r??? But having owned an 06 G35coupe it is hard not to go back to the G at this price n rate. One last thing... I kno this isn't a G forum but was hopin u guys don't mind? I'm stuck between blue slate, moonlight white, black obsidian. I have 13 hours to choose n would like input if u guys don't mind helpin out??? |
the g is a great ride
get a white one, tons of cosmetic mod option blue slate has no options |

I always say that if you are even considering the G as an alternative to the Z then you should DEFINITELY get the G.
|
congrats on the purchase...IMO get a white one if you like attention...I get a lot of stares and waves from people..a couple people talked to me at gas stations, and I even got numbers too... but ive also gotten 3 tickets within the first 5 months..its hard to beat the G37 when it comes to price, performance, comfort features and good looks inside and out...
|
if u park the g in a garage, get black then
but prepare for maintaining that colour |

Not sure if it's buyer's remorse or just a little G37 envy. |

When I got my g35, I fell in love with it. I didn't fall in love with the g37 the same way, which is why I went with the 370. It's weird, but my 370 is actually more similar to my g35 than the g37. But, that's just how I felt, that's not based on anything tangible.

Strange, but I'm on the opposite wing. I don't like the look of the G37 at all. It gives me the same feeling as BMWs..that the driver is a yuppie sleeze-ball. Perhaps I've seen too many spikey haired chochballs driving G's around my neighborhood.
Gut feelings aside, I've never driven a G so maybe I'm missing out. The G and the Z feel like pretty different cars to me though. The G feels like more of a sporty coupe than a sportscar, if that makes any sense. Congrats on your purchase though. Nothing feels better than loving what you just bought and then the absolute pleasure of driving it off the lot the first time. Priceless |

I feel u. The culture has changed with the G. But I see big changes in the Z culture too. But the thing is... we just gotta keep cars like the Z and G true to the culture. Don't let the elitists make these cars something else. The G is really a skyline... the baddest gt in the east aside from the gtr. Bimmers are cool but that's another story altogether... when it comes to the G. Its definately a mod car. U can get away with leaving the Z stock n it will be a great car. The G is great once u mod it. But u get a overall package in the G that's hard to beat. It sucks when some cars go commercial like bimmers n G's. But I will stay true to what a G should be. :) |

the '10 model gets a refreshed interior, i bet its just some trim pieces. the g has plenty of mods to choose from now.. which kind of mods you wanna do ??
|
:yum:
i wanta do mods!!! |
This thread has me reminiscing on when the original G and Z came out. Wow, just sharp looking cars, beautiful in every regard.
I still can't get used to the G37s stye, but it is a great car. That interior is a nice place to spend a day. That is really a sick deal. Great car for what you are paying. Props to Nissan/Infiniti for giving buyers a choice of a more luxury focused coupe or a more raw focused sports car. You wouldn't believe how much hate used to be spewed back and forth between G and Z owners of the previous generation, it's nice they have became more seperated and focused in their own ways. |
I've owned the 350Z, then a G35c, and now I have a 370Z...the G35c was a love a first sight...but the 350Z was not even a choice until the day I bought it...I didn't even know I was going to buy a car, or even planned to buy the 350Z until 5 minutes before I purchased it....hehehe, that's the problem with working at a dealership...back in 2005, a customer came in and traded in his 16 month old 2004 350Z with only 5000 miles on it...once he's signed over the vehicle, that's when I saw it and in an instant, I decided to purchase it...I saw the Z before, but never liked the car because most of the ones I saw were in Silver, and Silver just makes the 350Z look horribly ugly...so I never even thought of it...after seeing it in the white, there was no doubt I was going to own that car in that color...I thought it was such a beautiful car, and the longer I owned it, the more I fell in love with it...I still liked the G35c styling, and so when my 350Z was approaching 50k miles, I went out and searched for another car...I found a G35c with everything I wanted and in the pearl white I wanted...I was really looking for another 350Z, but told myself if I found the G35c I wanted, I would get it...well, I picked up a 2005 G35c with 8k miles (and this was back in 2007)...bought it, and HATED IT from day one....I loved the look of the G35c, even though it didn't look as nice as the 350Z, but hated everything else about it....anyway, I was stuck with the G35c for a couple years, and got rid of it a few months ago...
when the G35c first came out, I loved the styling instantly, but when the G37c came out, I KNEW right then that I will never want to own that vehicle...I remember thinking to myself that I'll buy the next generation Z, and a few years after that, I'll buy the next generation G or vice-versa...but when I saw the styling of the G, I never looked back...The add too much---how do I say it, "CLASS", to the G37c...it was obvious that they were looking to attract more older, mid-age/mid-life crisis folks rather than the young professional...and they've also gone more feminine too...more towards the female styling.... the restyling of the G-coupe reminds me of the restyling of the Lexus SC...the original SC was one sleek design, very sporty, yet luxurious....then they redesigned it, and obviously to attract an older, more feminine crowd, and they jacked up the price by quite a bit, like $10-20k...similarly, Infiniti did the same thing, redesigned the G coupe to attract older buyers with the more feminine and refined styling, and jack up the price so it stays out of the young professional group and more into the older/almost-retired group... http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...35-396x249.jpg http://www.nsxprime.com/photopost/da.../4055Lexus.jpg http://www.automedia.com/NewCarBuyer...C430_ext_1.jpg http://www.automedia.com/2009-New-Ca...Rear_Right.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/...coupe/myG1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/...coupe/myG3.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/...7_coupe4-1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/...7_coupe7-1.jpg Sorry, it's late and I just popped a couple somas, so I may be rambling on about some nonsense in my reponse, so forgive me... |
I personally think the Z is a much sexier, sportier looking car. Interior and exterior.
My neighbor has the white G37S in the driveway and I just don't think it has "It" All personal preference though, and just my 2cents |
You say you are not getting a Z, but really, you are getting a Z with a couple extra bells and whistles..... None the less, enjoy your car, you have worked for your money, and this is how you choose how to spend it..... I didn't vote in your pole however, as you should get the color that YOU want, and not listen to what others have to say.....
|
And--a big plus--the suspension should be a lot more relaxed than the 370's. Otherwise, they're pretty similar vehicles. Congrats'.
|
No hating at all from me! I love the G; not to mention you are still in the family cousin!!
Get the white man... A white G and so fresh and so clean. I have a pic on one of my PCs of a white G with black wheels. Sweet. Thanks for posting this thread, I will now use the G as another bargining chip in my negotiation process. |
If I was to get a G37, the ONLY color I would get is the pearl white
|
i drive g37 but i want 370z :(

Sounds like good deal ^^^

Both great cars. I think you made the right choice getting the G, though. The only reason to get a Z is performance. I could never have a Z unless it was a second or third vehicle in the garage. As your primary ride, the G makes much more sense.
