as opposed to pushing the ACURA RL remake and rebranded as the C-series

I thought the Altima Se-R commercial was pretty good. My previous car.

People who buy purpose-built sports cars like the Z aren't swayed by television ads; they buy what they want. Television ads are for people who see hamsters driving a Scion xB and then decide they want it.

As a few mentioned above, there's no reason not to at least show the Z (and maybe also the GTR) in the model lineup, if for no other reason than adding a little sporting gravitas to the Nissan image. I mean, they need it! It's so disappointing that most all the new Nissan models are now CVT trannys. How "non-sporting" can you get? It's become a lineup of "granny cars" with pretty sheet metal.

Commercials for the GTR and 370Z, and other "super" cars for each car company, do exist, though they are mostly dominant right before and initial release of them. I do remember the first 370Z commercials, and once they have been on the market, they are phased out. There will always be a market and audience for a car like the Z and GTR, so no, Nissan won't spend the money on making additional commercials. |

Commercials and air time cost money. You think every second counts in a drag race? You should look into what each second costs for tv air time, esp. during prime time. btw, not everyone is in the market for a sports car. nissan will invest their money in commercials that will reach a bigger audience and market than what the Z's/GTR's reach for. how much of a return on investment do you think nissan will get from advertising heavier on the Z and GTR? and who are you to say what nissan needs? |
luv at 1st site
Let me get the % of Z owners that knew what they wanted before they got to the Nissan Lot.(that's why there are no commercials) I knew I wanted a Z before I walked on the lot. It was all a matter of how much less off the sticker I would pay for it. And last but not least this is an over 30-40yr love affair with the Z's. when the moon and the stairs aligned themselves(money, children gone, didn't care what the wife said)my dreams came true.

Not enough people know what a 370z is or a gtr to show them in commercials. You buy them because you know what you want. Ive never seen a porsche commercial because they don't need to remind porsche enthusiasts to go buy one

A couple people have mentioned an absence of Porsche ads. I used to see advertisements for Porsche 911s back when I used to watch tennis (the US Open). I'm pretty sure Porsche also advertises during golf tournaments. I suppose these are the audiences that are more likely to afford a car like that.
Of course people do not buy the Z because of the commercials, but I agree that when they are showcasing their entire lineup of sedans and SUVs in a single commercial they might as well throw in a Z to give the company a sportier image. I remember Dodge used to have some cash-back financing deal and the commercial would say available on everything but the Viper, then they would flash a photo of the Viper to remind people they make a cool car. |
Maybe I missed it
I have never seen any Z commercials here in Western Missouri except for the one where the guy stretches his Z into a sedan. Life is too short to drive a four door car...
