AAM Short Tail 13' Nismo baseline seems high
So I got a baseline before I added mods. Only thing on the car are short tails. It's pretty much common knowledge within the community that they don't add power. I bought midpipes and a CAI I plan on installing soon, so I wanted to put down a baseline. In short, the numbers are:
305whp 246 lbft TQ On a dynojet Set to SAE. Run in 4th. 1.04 CF, but I'm at sea level and 80° This seems a bit high, anyone else? Thoughts?

Strong motor ! , may be a high reading dyno.... but your torque says otherwise.
What gear was the dyno pull done in?

It was a 4th gear pull. 4th usually reads a few hp lower from my past experience. Dynojets are lauded for their consistency, idk, maybe needs calibrated? There was an untuned Nismo they had with G3 intakes and testpipes that made the same amount of power, but it was in serious need of a tune. His TQ was at 252.

15% drivetrains loss is 295. Im happy she's running strong, a bit rich, but that's like overhead for mods lol. There weren't any spikes or dips. Looks like it really wants more air

They say Stillen Gen 3 intakes really make a difference. I wouldn't know since I'm just using K&N drop-ins and stock exhaust (for now).

Why would the dyno be done in 4th?
5th gear = 1:1 ratio Your numbers are not accurate, specifically the TQ which obviously shows higher in lower gear. And your HP number is a direct result of torque anyway so, there's your answer. Do a proper dyno next time... |

the fujimura canisters have decent gains vs the stock muffler according to fujimura on top of the weight savings, so i bet ur gains are pretty accurate with the shortails.

I would guess no more than 5 if there were gains. But it's really the only variable. I've never seen a dyno where short tails made power outside the margin of error
