Some People!

So I went to pick up some breakfast this morning to bring back for the Misses and myself at Panera. I parked the Z next to a nice red corvette, but 1 space over. It was also one building over from Panera in front of a Michaels at 9:30AM - with no one else in ANY other spaces in that lot. I figured it was a Half hour before Michaels opens and shouldn't have any problems with other cars parking there. WRONG!!!! After getting my to go order, walked out and looked over. There is a fairly unkempt beige Maxima parked right in between the Corvette and my Z. It is much closer to the Z. Hoping for the best, I approach my new Z that I just spent several pain staking weekends putting my stereo in among other small mods. To my horror, YEP, there is a nice door ding in my rear quarter panel from this wonderful individual. I look over and see someone unlocking the doors of Michaels. I say, "who owns this beige car?" She says, "I do." She had the uh oh face on. I said, "Did you know that you put a door ding in my car?" She immediately says that she didn't do it. We walk over and she opens her door and its trajectory obviously ends right where the dent is. She says, "Well, that doesn't mean that I did it!" Dumbfounded, I say, "Lady I check this car EVERY DAY! There was no door ding when I parked here. She would not admit to the obvious and says, "You didn't see me do it, it wasn't me." It was amazing that she could look at the evidence of her door ending right where my ding was and lie to my face. Looking at her door, it became immediately obvious that she must always swing her door all the way out and hit other cars. There were all kinds of knicks and dents where her door edge was. The paint I wiped out of my ding was white - probably from the last car she did that to, lol. Realizing that logic and reason was lost on this person, I drove away infuriated. It would not be worth pursuing. The ding was small enough, that any body work would just not be worth risking screwing up the body any worse and spending any money to go into a civil matters scenario just isn't worth it. What gets me, besides the blatant lying, is that she could have parked in about 50 other spots (some may have been even closer to the front door of her store)!!! She just HAD to park between the two sports cars and take up a closer space that you would think should be left for elderly customers that can't get around very well. She was on the heavy side, but early twenties, I would say. Guess it does help to let go of attachments to materialistic things and the desire for them to stay perfect. It is just hard to do that, when it costs so much money and so much time/effort was spent getting it just the way it was wanted. Don't even have it paid off and just passed 1K miles.:shakes head: Ah, first world problems.

Billibob22 11-22-2015 07:39 PM

People are sad bro sorry that happened

cooltoy 11-22-2015 07:44 PM

Biatch.

Magnetic Z 11-22-2015 07:49 PM

Thanks guys. Just trying to forgive and let it go. Thought writing it out may be therapeutic. I still plan on enjoying the car and parking further away.:D

Spooler 11-22-2015 07:53 PM

See if a paint less dent remover can get it out. It's worth a shot. I would have given that person a piece of my mind in glorious fashion.

DeliriousClam 11-22-2015 08:06 PM

At that point I would've just pissed her off to the point where she did it on purpose and said. "Well, now I saw you do it."

1LIFE 11-22-2015 08:09 PM

Such a lack of decency in the world today.. Girl is obviously a POS.. But as spooler mentioned a good paintless dent remover/dent doctor should be able to fix it for $100-$150

barncobob 11-22-2015 08:19 PM

sorry brother, I always park a long way from other cars and dammn if someone doesn't get next to me..don't mind ifn its another new car buts its always a POS car

DOOMMONKEY777 11-22-2015 09:00 PM

If i can get just $10 for every ding/scratch that other ppl left me, i bs u not i could afford 4k paint job. I know how u feel, but its good that u let it go, life is easier when u dont give a full **** anymore.

CM370z 11-22-2015 09:07 PM

Sorry to hear that man. Karma will get to her!

ZVox 11-22-2015 09:16 PM

Im telling you, there are times the "eye for an eye law" should be in affect. I have a toolbag I carry in my car. And im sure I could have figured something out, that she surely wouldnt have seen me do.

:iagree: Sorry to hear about this. I am a believer in "what goes around, comes around."

BrianInSoCal 11-22-2015 09:44 PM

It doesn't matter what you'd do to her car. Those kind of people don't give a sh1t about their cars ... Or anyone else's.

Gerg 11-22-2015 10:15 PM

Have you checked with Panera or Michaels? One of them may have cameras facing out to the parking lot. If you can have the video pulled, you may find something that indicates that she did it.

I've seen videos before where people ding someone else's car, inspect the damage, and look around to see if anyone else saw what they did.

Never hurts to check. Sometimes calling someone on their blatant lies is worth more than the actual cost to fix.

JC-Nismo 11-22-2015 10:21 PM

Ice Pick to the tires will be instant Karma.

DeliriousClam 11-23-2015 12:12 AM

You have to do something that wouldn't be considered vandalism. Remove all her wheels and leave them around the parking lot. Or right next to her car

Nixin 11-23-2015 06:43 AM

Sorry to read about the door ding. It doesn't matter where you park. Too many people are simply ignorant and plain old oblivious to everything around them. Go rent a pick up truck and ding every F-ing door on her car. She will not notice anything and at least you can vent!

I wish I had eye for eye mentality. Just point behind her and say "look over there!" When she looks, bash her window in and say "you didn't see me do it, so it wasn't me". Then drive the fuck away.

Where it happened would be facing away from the cameras(good thought though), but the ding is small enough and the paint seems to be entact (after thumb polishing it:tup:). Don't really feel like doing major body work just for that. As for her inspecting it, after seeing her door - I seriously doubt she looks at any of the cars she obviously does that too.

Hotrodz 11-23-2015 07:12 AM

I have a lovely crease in my passenger door that has been there two years. It was put there by someone I work with and I work in a small office and no one would own up to it. Because the ding is towards the front end of the door it can't be fixed by a paintless dent removal so in order to have the dent repaired it would include painting the front fender to color match and blend. None the less it's still there and I it makes me cringe every time I detail the car.

under your circumstances i would haved parked next to the vette. i attempt to park further away, but if i have to chose a parking spot i chose spots where the owner has a clean car. shows they give more than a rats arse about it.

and worst case scenario i just go for a drive to another location :driving:

well if he returned the ding into her car he may have had a chipped edge :inoutroflpuke:

maybe she needed to be dinged in the head. or the fobjina. or whatever.

Man, that stinks. Seeing all the mods you've done, that makes it all the more irritating. But, in the big picture - your car (mine, too) is still awesome and super fun to drive.

Hotrodz 11-23-2015 07:32 AM

I also have this superstition thing that if I leave it I won't get anymore lol. It has worked so far!

FPenvy 11-23-2015 07:57 AM

should have said "hey whats that" (pointed the direction away from the cars) and kicked in her fuckin door.

then say welp you didn't see me do it. must not have happened.

then drove away. that's how I would have handled it.

Exactly what I said ... except I said bash in her window

Put some mayonnaise in a few twinkies, leave them on her hood. Wait and watch.

i like it. people like that need to learn to own up to stuff like that rather than denying it.

kick in a door, bust a window, worst case AP round through the engine block.

bet they think twice the next time they open their door.

I like to get creative, so just a couple thoughts

1. If its an older car, that doesnt have keyless, you superglue a penny or dime over the keyholes.
2. I carry a tube of steelies in my toolbag, which can be used to put into a valve stem camp. Tighten it down and you have a leak that leaves no dmg, but all 4 tires wll be flat lol.

I know I can be evil

kenchan 11-23-2015 10:20 AM

Sorry to hear op. I think we can all agree that all 4DSC drivers are stupid.

or just carry the tool that removes the inside piece of the valve stem.

air goes out and cant be put back in.

MicntaeG35 11-23-2015 10:22 AM

that blows. Ive had that happen multiple times and it just gets me lit! I used to have a very very short temper when it came to stuff like that and one day this guy let his walmart buggy roll right into my Z and he clearly watched it happen but made no attempt to stop it or say sorry or anything of that matter so I got out and confronted hm about it and he kept trying to deny it was him.! I said I clearly watched you, watch the buggy roll into my car and he just kept denying. well after this heated argument, I walked over and got the same buggy that hit my caresume and slammed it right in to his pretty (not so pretty) P.O.S camaro and then drove off. :driving:

kenchan 11-23-2015 10:23 AM

FP id thought u would use a wire cutter and snip the valve off. :icon17:

yea but if you remove the inside piece nothing looks wrong until they try and fill it back up lol

makes for more steps and frustration.

If you can pull the door open or have any gap in the window. Take a plastic sandwich bag of Telcom powder blow into the car.
