Rear end is always the offenders fault. Expect a check and new rear bumper. Extremely unlikely anything outside of that being replaced due to impact. Hope you came out the car with a "sore neck" ;)

Get a Nismo bumper! It's only 400+paint from your local dealership.

When I was in Okinawa Japan the same thing happened to my Skyline. It looked minimal so I let the lady go without exchanging info. Later that day I decided to look underneath and noticed that the exhaust was pushed in and bent. Anyways my point is be sure to check underneath. Insurance...Talk to them before deciding to make a claim. Your car should be repaired to it's original condition. Get quotes and if under deductable then settle with driver to pay you.

Happened to me when it was less than 3 mos. new. $1200 on mine and it was significantly less than what you have. It was appraised by State Farm . I should have cashed out and gone aftermarket.

I'd say go with an Amuse rear end, that thing is sexy.

one problem that might arise is if the ins. co. or body shop reports it to Carfax and others,,might show as accident, takes pics for future use.

Who cares? Just go after the other insurance for diminished value.

I got a minor rear end bump in late March this year. All it did was scratch the paint and cause one small dent in the plastic. The plastic bumper cover did not get broken. The body shop who fixed it took the whole rear bumper assembly apart to make sure there was no other damage. Basically all they did was disassemble, paint, and reassemble the rear bumper. The insurance company (Progressive) of the young woman who hit me paid for all of it. The total bill was $920.

Remember that the bumper cover only shows aesthetic damages. However, ensure that the steel bumper underneath popped back out and is in its place. If not, it will need to be realigned by a bodyshop to protect you from any, possible, future rear enders. Good luck.

Yep, you need to check underneath. There could be damage to the energy absorbing foam or the crash beam.

thanks for opinions guys.

do you think guys that the damage needs a rear bumper replacement?
'so the other party's insurance called me and wanted to set up an appt to check the car personally and give estimate about the damage. they told me that the rental car should be reasonable like 40-50 dollars per day and out of the pocket and later on they will reimburse it.

for me honestly i want the rear bumper to be replace and i want a nismo rear bumper :> but i guess it will all depends on the one who will check it. what do you think guys

Zbrah 11-11-2015 12:10 PM

Your bumper is cracked. Demand a new one to make you whole, although this repair may go on your car's record and diminish its value so the least they can do is replace with a new factory bumper. You can also get an estimate for the work at any shop of your choice and tell the insurance co to cut you a check.
