Just what I needed...

I was headed home from work and I hit a dog on the highway. Im surprised how much damage there is for such a small dog. I believe it was a pitbull.. he was just sitting in the middle of the my lane. I Didn't have enough time to react unfortunately. Entire front end is done and the steering wheel is in pieces from the airbag... I guess it's time for an upgrade

Oh man! That sux, though your car got messed up I feel bad for the dog too! Did it have tags so you can pursue the owner?

James10694 11-03-2015 01:41 AM

Yes the cop took care of it

njobe89 11-03-2015 08:24 AM

you can make them pay for the damages

Duc_Z09 11-03-2015 08:26 AM

That sux, at least you're OK and hopefully the dog didn't suffer. Are you going to fix it?

KMO-II 11-03-2015 08:30 AM

Awe man. Sorry that happened and everybody is ok. Wish u well and a speedy recovery on that sweet ride.

Glad you're okay. And according to Disney, all dogs go to heaven.

KngScottieV 11-03-2015 11:00 AM

Looks like it's time for a '15 Nismo front end

LA370z 11-03-2015 11:38 AM

Damn................

So if the airbag deploys does that means the car would be considered totaled? Never had a wreck before which is why I'm asking.

Is the dog ok? Cars are replaceable but dogs aren't :(

Depends on how bad the frame looks. Air bags can deploy without the car being considered totaled. I'd say this car is far from totaled at a glance.

Disney has said lots of things... :shakes head:

Hopefully the dog didn't suffer and I see a new front bumper in your near future.

Hope everything goes smoothly from here.

If the dog was just sitting there and didn't run out in front of you, shouldn't you have been able to avoid it if you were watching the road? Sorry, but I'm an animal lover would be pretty depressed that I killed a dog I could have avoided.

I was surprised I didn't have enough time to react tbh. It was dark there were no street lights and the speed limit out here is 75. It also doesn't help my driver side headlight was out.

James10694 11-03-2015 07:36 PM

I actually don't like the 15' nismo bumper. I was thinking about going stillen or amuse considering the entire front end was damaged. When I say front end I mean all the nismo specific plastic and liners.

I don't think there is any frame damage but im no expert. The front bumper and part of the lower headlight assembly/bracket and steering wheel is the only damage I have observed. Going to take the car in to the body shop tomorrow.

Man I totally understand!!! Earlier this year in my G I hit a raccoon and had to have the front bumper and radiator replaced!! I couldn't believe the damage, it was a raccoon. It ran out in front of me and I was going about 50 at night, but still I still can't believe it. It was a super loud cracking sound I can see now I'm lucky my air bag didn't deploy too. That sucks man I feel ya haha. That does suck for the dog too tho for sure I love dogs

i'm not sure why you guys say "i can't believe the damage" ... if you hit a chicken at high speed it will cause a lot of damage... you were going 70+ mph, hit a stationary object that probably weigh 15-20lbs...

James10694 11-05-2015 01:47 PM

10,000 dollars worth of damage. Anyways does anyone know if the stillen bumper fits with the nismo or base undertray and parts or do they send they're own?

All dogs go to heaven was a Disney Movie?

It was actually a Sullivan Bluth production. Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid released in theaters the same day.

The Nismo undertray does require some trimming to fit with the STILLEN Bumper. You can have your trimmed or purchase an OEM one from a standard Z.
