Fill Up Problems??

Well, at the local 7-11 filling up, checking the oil, and all the sudden I hear this dripping sound. The dripping sound turns into a gushing sound, and, well, my gas tank is full, the the area around the Z is soaking with gas. All in all, less than 3 gallons, but still, never had that problem. Anyone else had this issue, or was it just the pump??

Oh yeah, the Miles Until Empty maxed at 378 miles!

i always listen for when the tank is full and keep my hand on the pump just in case the auto-off is broken.

Yes, I had this happen to me once. Looked away for a minute and glanced at the pump to see a number that was impossible given the gas tank size. Aaargh! Not only making a (dangerous) mess, but having to pay for the gas to do it with.

Took home, rewashed, and re-waxed the side of the car. Took a while for the stink to go away, just from the transfer of fumes from the bottoms of my sneakers to the floor mat. Yuck!

Read and watch some of these, some of you may know this stuff already, some of you may not! Educate your wife and girlfriend so they don't become toast!

350s are notorious for that bug; I hope the 370 didn't inherit that "gene" from their predecessors! My '04.5 Touring Coupe acts up every now and then.

The auto-shutoff sensor is in the nozzle, so the problem is with the pump. It happened to me once with my old car, my shoes smelled like gas for weeks. I notified the attendant and on leaving I called the number on the certificate to notify the town as well.
