370z Sport Package Weight??

Ok...so does anyone REALLY know how much the sport package adds to the weight of the 370Z? From Nissan's website I can see that the Touring model weighs in around 3278 lbs, which is about 40 lbs more than the base model (not too bad of an increase IMO). I have noticed that most of the magazines have weighed the car between 3320 ad 3350 for the Touring w/ sport package, but who knows how much gas they had in them or if the Navi adds extra weight too.

Also, on a side note, does anyone know if on the Touring model you can remove the spare tire/tools without affecting the subwoofer?

you have to remove the subwoofer to get to the spare,

Yes, I know the subwoofer is on top, but I'm wondering if you can permanently remove the spare tire/tools and still have the subwoofer work and sound as normal.

I'm going to be ordering mine soon, and I'll probably just have to go down to a dealer to find this out (unless I can find a dealer that has White w/ Persimmon leather combo).

stereo system, power windows and locks, trunk lining and sound insulation removal,
roll cage, polycarbonate windows, lightweight flywheel, lightweight oem race seats.
no ac.

basically a porche RS and EVO RS package mixed.

thats what should be included in the sport package!

Or, since Nismo is moving away from marketing the light tune stuff and letting the parent company Nissan handle that, let your description be a true Nismo package!! Pretty hard core!!

Supergoji 01-06-2009 08:27 AM

i guess we could call it a club sport package.

Actually, the track model was heavier than the base model in 03-05. Track had the brembos and the vdc, lsd. Base models were always the lightest. But ur right..I wish there was a "track" model for the 370. Something like brembos, lightweight 18' rays, stickier rubber, more aggressive gearing, stiffer springs/roll bars, cf body parts, no ac/radio...:tup:

I have the official data from a Nissan FairladyZ brochure that I got in Japan:

Base = 1480 kg (3263 lb)
Base + Sport = 1500 kg (3307 lb)
Touring = 1510 kg (3329 lb)
Touring + Sport = 1520 kg (3351 lb)

Also, the JDM Sports Package does not include the rear wing and front spoiler (those are separate options), so the US Sport Package is a bit heavier yet.

I think the data on the nissanusa website is a little too optimistic, as the car mag test weights seem to match the Japanese weight data. OTOH, the Japanese brochure uses nice round numbers in kg, so I don't think it's 100% exact either.

Good info and they are correct. Here's JDM Z34 sports package weight from another thread

Yes! :excited: They weighed a Nissan 370Z sports package with full tank of gas and it came out to be 1499 kg. I used the 1 kg = 2.2 lbs formula and get 3297.8 lbs. That's good enough for me. I give Nissan Thumbs up for keeping the car below 3300 even with a bigger displacement, new safety protocols, etc.

A gallon of gasoline weight about 6 lbs. The 370Z has a 19 gallon tank. Right there is a possible fudge factor of about 114 lbs between different measuring results.
