I think he learned his lesson. Thank the Lord no one, including the driver, was injured. If he doesn't tell the insurance mafia the whole truth, big deal. They rape and pillage us daily. But let's not be hypocrites. I am sure we have all done something stupid once or twice in our lives. No reason to crucify him. He destroyed his car. Lesson learned.

Didn't call insurance. It looks like the front tire isn't punctured but kind of came off the rim a little. Went to a really friendly mechanic, had the car towed to him for $140 (with "Dollies/Trollies?").

He said he is going to check the entire car and give me a list of things that need to be repaired.

Best case scenario he said he would fix the rims and repaint them black. Install a new fender and the bottom part. Fix my "alignment".

He said there might be a chance my suspension is screwed up since the steering wheel is titled.

Hopefully everything goes well... never ever in my life am I touching that traction control button again.

Thanks for all the help. Will update again with what needs to be fixed and how much he is charing.... maybe I can find parts here for cheaper.
Really? That's the lesson you learned?

In any event, I'm glad you have a plan for getting the Z repaired and hope it's a reasonable expense.

You have more confidence than I do, but I hope you're right.

I've done a lot of stupid stuff in cars, but the only comparable one that comes to mind is when I was 15 years old and acting like a moron on deserted streets in my hometown after a rare snowfall. Like the OP, I slammed into a curb, but my '55 Chevy was tougher than a Z. A couple of "new" wheels from a junkyard and I was back in business. But my solution was not simply never touching the clutch pedal again.

Or .... and hear me out on this one ... he could actually take responsibility for his actions. Just a thought

OP, if money's not a problem, pay for the repairs out of pocket and don't take the insurance hit

Just think of it as a life lesson.Getting all upset about it ain't going to help the situation, just have to deal with it.Someone above suggested it will be around $2000 to fix, sorry to say,but here in Canada it will be considerably more than that,I would be surprised at anything less than $5k.

2) Please don't do this on neighborhoods, some of us have little children that can be killed by cars.
2) Take it to a dealer and have them repaired professionally by Nissan or approved Shop.
3) I estimate about 5K in damages or 2-3 K if you find parts here in the forum.

Idk why but the two "2" bother me. I agree with your points though. Especially #2

Well we all do stupid things sometimes (my first experience with summer tires during a cold snap was no fun), but now you know better :P. Take it to a good body shop, it might not be cheap so you could let insurance handle it, just make sure it's not considered an at fault accident.

any damage over 1000 the shop/dealer is obligated to report it to the police and insurance company.

it will be considered at fault because no one else was at the scene.

Re-reading thread title gives a good chuckle (as well as giving a bit of insight into mindset) after reading the OP.

There's a lot of good advice itt, OP. Pay up (financially & otherwise), learn from it, and move forward. Good luck.

I know it's too late, but practice that $h*t in a parking lot.

I'd guess you need a new rim and A-arm plus some panels. I'd be surprised if the unibody is tweaked but even if it is it can be pulled back straight on a frame machine.
