And unless the LEO is a moron or didn't calibrate their laser/radar device, though the laser can scatter, the margin of error is typically minimal and spot-on. Even with the older laser/radar guns, they will know if a car is equipped with a jammer because once they scan that car, it will show up as blank. I've owned my share of detectors and it always has alerted me whenever I have been scanned, though luckily I wasn't speeding. IMO, the detectors only give the driver a FALSE sense of security that s/he won't get caught, but to each their own. |

I must look in the manual and see how it's done. I'm really not all that familiar with the controls on the V1. I never use 'em except to turn it on. YaV1 has a mode where the display on the V1 is black so it doesn't light up like a christmas tree at night. YaV1 runs on the phone down low in the car. All the alerts go there. 104 |

It is not illegal to posses/own a radar/detector in any state. Now the use of a detector is illegal only in VA and DC (military bases too). Any body that says that owning a radar detector in VA is illegal doesn't know what they are talking about. I live in VA and I do not use my detector I while in VA. When I travel out of state I have my detector buried in the trunk until I cross the state line. Now some states do have laws regarding things being attached to/ blocking your windshield which in a way prohibits the use of a detector. This just means that you just have to get more creative in mounting one. :icon17: |

BTW you can use a splitter like this one, RJ11 Splitter, to run the bluetooth dongle and the remote screen at the same time on a V1. |
I've always wondered, what is VA's justification for banning radar detector use?

I figured some conservatives were running the state, but there has to be more to it than that. I'm sure folks have voted to repeal this.
Doesn't really affect me directly. I've only traveled through VA once or twice in the last decade. Generally I prefer to travel west :) Sucks for the people that live there. I was reading some comments about some time back. I recall a chief or sheriff claiming a radar detector caused a multi-car pile up because the lead car nailed the brakes when their detector went off. |

Edit: You only have to do this ONCE. It will turn on in full Logic mode every time after you do it one time. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

Not trying to be an @ss but when I was younger I got fewer tickets after I gave up the detector. Just got to find the right(and safe) places to get on it.

Hi everyone! I want to buy a good radar detector. What is the best police radar detector right now?
Thanks! |
