Crap dealer...

So this is my story of a dealer that I will now never buy from.

Went to the dealer last night to look at the 370z and was told that I could test drive it. When I got there the car was not even on the lot. It was at PDI up the street. So I went up the road to take a look at it. Looked really nice. Told the sales guy that I wanted to come back and look/tests drive the next day. So I called today to go take a look at the car and was told to come on in. I get there and my sales guy was busy and I told him that I could wait a bit so he could finish the deal he was working on. I looked the car over for 20-30 minutes and he came back and said he was going to have to pass me over to another sales guy. As soon as I see this new sales guy I could tell things were not going to be good. First words out of his mouth was you can not test drive this car. So we go back and forth about why I would need to test drive a car before I buy. I end up in the sales managers office and pretty much the same thing with him. I told him that I was told by his sales person that I could test drive the car. He asks if I am going to buy for sure today and I said did not know until I can test drive the car. I also mentioned that the car they have is not the package I am looking for. Which put him off and he then said again that I can not test drive the car. The manager and the second sales guy pretty much talked down to me and treated me like **** the entire time. In the end I walked out of the dealership very pissed and told him that he would not be getting my sale or anyone that I know. By the way this car was marked up 3k above MSRP.

If anyone local wants info on the dealer in question please PM me and I will be glad to share...

Looks like I will be sending Nissan USA and the dealer owner an email about how I was treated.

probably why they marked it up and felt like they could be a$$holes to potential customers.

Great info. This is the same dealer I contacted regarding purchasing a Nismo 350Z - they contacted me saying they were out of town for a few days but would get back to me. Never did - sent a couple of e-mails asking for a response and nadda. I was pretty sure the economy wasn't the greatest - you'd thing service would be better.... Keep us posted if you find a good dealer in the Seattle area as I may be traveling over the US/Canada boarder to pick up a 370Z depending on pricing....

I went to the same dealership that sold my 06 350. I explained to the salesman I wanted red with Touring & Sports. They only had a black base and he explained that they would be getting 10 in today and there would be a red with Touring & Sports

The price he quoted for my trade made me chuckle. I told him there was no way I would let my car go for what they offered. So the "secret" trips start back and forth with the sales manager. Finally the sales manager came in and... blah blah blah, you know the story. Before he could finish I grabbed my keys and left.

After going to another dealership and returning home with my 370Z, I get a call from the first dealership. The salesman said, "Well I'm still trying to get what you want for your car, go ahead and come in tomorrow (which is today) and you can test drive the RED one. Trying not to sound smug I said, "Oh thanks for the call, but I just got home from Mossy with my new car!" There was a pause and he said, "Is it red?" I said, "Yes...[click]

IDIOTS! By the way my salesperson at Mossy is a woman.

Well...we have other dealers in the area just not a lot. I looked today and found around 5-7 in western WA region.

The funny thing is...the economy is **** right now and they are still pulling this kinda crap on people. All I wanted was a simple test drive. Not a long one I even told them. Just around the block a couple times.

Telling me that I would have to buy the car today to get a test drive is absurd! Not to mention the fact that they marked the car up 3k above MSRP. I told the sales manager before I left that if this was such a hot car that the one on his floor would not be sitting there in the first place. Cars that are hot never even hit the floor...they are pre-sold or sell very fast.

In the end they should have let me test drive the car since their sales person told me I could. They have lost more than my sale at this point. I will tell as many people as need be about them.

Excellent!
It happened to me the same when I was trying to get my 350z. The first dealer didn't want to give me a deal with my trade in. I went to another Nissan Dealer in the Area, which is the one that I will recommend to anybody, great customer service and good relations after the sell;
Well the point is, I got my 350z from that 2nd Dealer, and the next day I went to the 1st Nissan Dealer and saw the manager, (who was the one that didn't want to give me a deal and even told me, that I wasn't a potential buyer.... I was 23 at that time), and I ask him that if I was able to do regular maintenance to my new 350z, and looked me like I don't believe you. And you know what was the first STUPID thing that came out from his mouth? That 350 that you have, was previously crashed... what a moron.

Go to the dealer that didn't want to deal with you a go with the same stupid question about maintenance, just to show them that you were a potential buyer.:owned:

Same thing happend here sorta...I offered a pay stub and everything and the dealer still told me that they have to come to an agreement on the price of the car prior to test driving any cars. I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I couldn't think of a polite way to respond besides thinking that the car is no $300,000 Ferrari...it's a $38,000 Nissan...

Needless to say at the end of the month I am going back (when they get the one I want in) and talk prices so I can at least test drive. It's one thing when somebody wants to drive the car and has nothing to show for, but when you are offering pay stubs and proof you can purchase the car there is no reason whatsoever that I or any other possible Nissan customer should not be allowed to test drive before purchase and told prices must be settled prior to.

Temple 01-04-2009 01:18 PM

I will not be going back to my dealer. I will just find one that treats me like a future customer and lets me test drive the car and also does not mark it up $3000 above MSRP.
