Can someone do me a favor and video something
 

Can someone (preferably with a newer car) video clicking opening the center console. I want to see how far it naturally opens and how far.

I bought a spare and it comes open a bit, then you can open it to almost 90 degrees, but it makes a click.
You can also text it to me (31O)eight nine three-42O7

I wanted to say on my first Z (2009 Base), my center console opened without clicking at the 90 deg mark.

On my current Z (2012 Nismo), it does what you describe clicking past 90..its been doing since I bought it. Bugs the hell out of met but I could used it.

My current one is 100% shot and doesn't open at all, I just want to make sure the replacement works right. Or maybe I'll mod the spring(?)

I put weight on it when I shift/sit in the car...

I need to figure out a way of preventing that

I punched a hole in the leather with my elbow, so I decided to get it wrapped. The resin is pretty sturdy. Could that be an option?
