I would personally not mind getting the Genesis coupe. I did consider it and strongly thought about purchasing it so that I would have 10k more in my bank. in the long run I chose against it because the name "Hyundai" has not become known for reliability "yet". They are on the right road, and They will probably surpass many of the best brands out there soon, but until it happens.... good luck in your new car! |

I traded my 350z for a Genesis Coupe V6 and after about 6 months I traded the Genesis in for my 370. It's definitely a nice car for the money, but as time went on, I became more and more disappointed in the performance of the Gen. Not that the performance is bad, but I guess I was just expecting more. Having driven both, the Z betters the Genesis in pretty much every performance metric. That being said, the Genesis does have a lot of potential, so congrats on the purchase.

A tad OT... I notice the new McLaren is taking some cues from the Genesis Coupe. I don't think anyone can go wrong with the Genesis Coupe. It is leagues ahead of the Tiburon. That's quite an evolution.
IMO, I don't think the 350Z and 370Z has much "Z" passion put into it compared to the 300ZX and prior generations. However, I do get a better sense of "Z" passion in the 370Z than the 350Z. The NISMO 350Z had some sort of passion put into it, but I don't quite see much effort with the NISMO 370Z. Look at the previous generation GT-Rs and the NISMO variants... now that's something worth owning.

Ya know that the Tiburon was a Pininfarina design right? I've looked the the Tiburon, I think I'm bias against it because it is a Hyundai, but a closer look at the exterior, it is not a bad looking car

I looked at the gen coupe....but could NOT get past the fact that its still a Hyundai. Maybe that makes me an elitist a$$? I don't know...but I just could not pull the trigger on a Hyundai....ever...or a Kia...
Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion and is based on real feelings I had when cross shopping cars. Just being honest. I'm not saying its right

and lets not forget, i love the 370. would have bought it if the guy could make the numbers work like he had said previously. i like the extra 25 HP and the way it can rip around corners. its a great car. but I dont love it 10k more then the gen coupe. and lets not forget Hyundai's 10 year powertrain warranty. that was the point. few things i like about the gen coupe over the Z and a few things i like about the Z over the gen coupe but in the end the price difference was to much for what really is a similar car in many ways. i think this is a pretty good and funny review.
it addresses the side where people say "i cant buy a Hyundai" etc.. its a fair review with positives and negatives. YouTube - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Review Last edited by nurburgring; 11-03-2009 at 10:59 AM. |
