Wrong vin for model?
i was looking at this 2011 370z touring. The guy said that the vin number shows up as a nismo instead of touring. Is it possible? Wouldn't that affect the car insurance and I have to go through the dmv to change it?. Thanks! I also haven't check the tittle paper work with the car vin yet, but I will before buying it.
if the guy still has his OEM windshield there is a little peep area on the bottom section driver of the windshield that will show the VIN without having to step into the car.
I understand about matching the vin of the car with the tittle but, does it matter if the model showed up as a nismo instead of touring?
if he's selling a nismo at a touring price, buy it!
And if he's selling a touring with the Nismo price :ugh2:
Then what? Lol. Quote:

If you have it, post the VIN and it can be run though a VIN decoder that a member posted several years ago. Can't find the link at the moment, but I'll get it for you.

I ran the VIN through Carfax and it shows an accident history in 2013 (between Jul-Sept) with airbag deployment. It looks like it has had three owners so far (accident with owner 2). The damage was listed as moderate to severe with damage done to left front. Carfax also has it listed as a touring/Nismo.

Dam, they say the title is clean
So No deal then?? Thanks shukotuz! Forgot to check carfax... How did u check carfax w/o paying for it? Lol
Carfax does show it as clean, so that probably means that it was never reported to the ins company as damaged, and paid out of pocket or cash given from the other party.
Sucks, I was going to get it by tonight too. Good thing i check with the forum members.

Take it for a test drive and if it drives great, take it to get inspected by a mechanic. If he sais it's solid, use that accident as a bargaining chip! If you were to buy it and keep it for like 5 years,by that time the accident won't effect the re sail. I know some people have to have a used car that's never been in an accident, but if it drives like new, then what are you really missing out on? But if he's asking for a non accident price tag for a vehicle that's been in an accident and won't budge, say see Ya later!
