Eh. Much subjective... at home, I'm in a garage so wouldn't be a concern at all. At work, it might be when I get to my desk I would put the fob from my pocket into the pouch. When I leave work, take out of pouch back in pocket then walk to car and push the smart button as normal.
If you're parked outside at home (apartment or no garage or whatever), you would repeat. If you're just popping in the store or starbucks you might not bother... But if you're paranoid, you might.
