Eh. Much subjective... at home, I'm in a garage so wouldn't be a concern at all. At work, it might be when I get to my desk I would put the fob from my pocket into the pouch. When I leave work, take out of pouch back in pocket then walk to car and push the smart button as normal.

If you're parked outside at home (apartment or no garage or whatever), you would repeat. If you're just popping in the store or starbucks you might not bother... But if you're paranoid, you might.

Thankfully the RF range on the Z's fob is very small, so I'd pretty much be watching them steal my car. I never take it out and press the button to lock/unlock, so that signal is never prevalent.
This. 99% of the time I'm the button on the handle.
